Looks like it’s going to be a long time before the Fox Westwood Village Theatre reopens. Turning this historic single-screen theater into a multiplex is an odd decision to me. 🤔

I watched The Nightmare Before Christmas in 4D at the historic El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood! 🎃🎄
Disney transformed the theater with immersive effects, including actual snowfall! They even have original set pieces from the film on display.
Easily one of the coolest I’ve ever had!

Did you know? In 2018, Warner Bros. proposed building a $100 million aerial gondola connecting its studio lot in Burbank to the Hollywood Sign.
The ambitious project was ultimately scrapped in 2021 due to required zoning changes.

Anyone remember when Spy Kids 4 came out in 2011 and theaters handed out scratch and sniff cards? 😂
The movie was marketed as “4D,” and you had to scratch different numbers on the card throughout the film to smell what was happening on screen. Such a bizarre gimmick! I loved it!

Anyone remember AMC Downtown Disney 12? 🎬
Located at the Disneyland Resort, the 12-screen movie theater opened in 2001 and closed in 2018. The building was later demolished in 2021 to make way for new retail and dining space.

🚨 BREAKING: The future of the historic Reseda Theatre is once again uncertain.
LA Councilmember Bob Blumenfield confirms the current redevelopment plans, which included a food hall and two upstairs movie screens, are unlikely to move forward.
The city will likely need to store the theater. This is where the opening scene of BOOGIE NIGHTS was filmed. This is extremely disappointing. 😭

A conversation between Nathan Fielder & Charlie Kaufman would be absolutely wild! Make it happen, @A24! 🙌

Has anyone else seen Synecdoche, New York? It's about a theater director who rents an enormous warehouse and builds a life-size replica of New York City, hiring actors to recreate his own life. As the production grows over decades, the line between reality and fiction begins to harlie Kaufman have described the film as their attempt at a "horror" film. I would love to see a conversation between Nathan Fielder and Kaufman.

My first time at @AFIFEST! It’s wild to see how different @ChineseTheatres feels during festival week. Normally, it’s pretty empty.

@seaweedpenumbra It’s giving such a revitalization of cinema. The movies are boomin and the box office is rolling. @SaveYourCinema covering a lot of historical theaters being saved has been an amazing thing to see as well. Can’t wait to go to the Cinerama dome in 2028
