Vithya Ramraj grew up in Meenakshipuram with her identical twin Nithya. Their father Ramraj drove extra shifts. Their mother Meena enrolled them in the Erode sports hostel from Class 7 after a PE teacher spotted not afford training otherwise. Hockey first. Athletics next. Years of struggle, a sports-quota BBA, and a twin who later paid for her training when money ran out.
At Asian Games 2026 she delivered: 🥇 Women’s 4x400m relay (anchor) 🥈 Mixed 4x400m relay (anchor) 🥉 Women’s 400m hurdles — 54.75s, National Record
She finally broke PT Usha’s 42-year-old mark and became the first Indian woman under 55 seconds. Three events. Three medals. Anchor legs that counted.
