And that will be England gone,
The shadows, the meadows, the lanes,
The guildhalls, the carved choirs.
There'll be books; it will linger on
In galleries; but all that remains
For us will be concrete and tyres.

Another odd thing about council tax bandings and the amount of council tax you pay:

I'm in a 2 bed Tudor cottage in East Suffolk band A.

My stepfather was 8 minutes down the road in a 2 bed retirement apartment in East Suffolk, also band A.

But he paid about £50 a month more council tax than me. And he got single person discount too.

What's all that about then? 🤔🤨

@SandyofSuffolk Probably the same way that Alan Crozier at the football FA became the boss of the post office and now Streeting's in charge of defence, as Tony Hancock once said, They're all raving mad !

@SandyofSuffolk Happened to me Sandy, my home in Suffolk was in C band, yet my home up by the Humber bridge is in E and yet worth £100,000's less! Go figure. I'm not rich & currently grounded from my flying role, cash is tight. I'm not poor but by no means rich.

Question:

How can a former Defence Minister be experienced and have enough knowledge to suddenly be Chancellor?

And how can a former Health Minister be experienced and have enough knowledge to suddenly be Defence Minister?

And don't say they have advisors. The advisors they have are all wet behind the ears just out of university or a charity job.

What makes any of these ministers qualified or experienced enough for the highly paid jobs they've recently acquired?

Labour are only raising the personal allowance to £13,036 for pensioners, whilst scrapping the triple lock.

Reform UK will raise it to £15,000 for EVERYONE, retired or working. This will give every household an extra £1,000 a year. ✅

🔥🔥🔥

The Guardian tried to trap Nigel Farage with a question about Tommy Robinson's conviction.

Farage went above and beyond what was required and said that he does not tell Reform voters who they are allowed to support or reject and went even further stating that the inson on those charges is wrong.

@SandyofSuffolk Sandy, my standing charge on gas is 16p a day, or £1.12 per week. It's a derisory saving, wrapped up as "a little bit of hope".

I could not even heat my loo for 16p.

@SandyofSuffolk We got a new router from BT due to arrive when we were on holiday. Went into the change details and asked them to deliver next door. They didn’t. It sat for two weeks in the rain outside my front door! Idiots.

Funny how the most horrible men on here are always football fans.
Their brains obviously can't cope with anything more complicated than watching a few overpaid men kicking a ball about. Poor souls.
@SandyofSuffolk @DPJHodges "The Corbyn lovers were all gullible youngsters."

Whereas Farage lovers are all gullible old duffers. Two cheeks of the same arse, just one's young and plump, the other sad, wrinkly and saggy.

The OBR says British taxpayers will spend £431 BILLION a year on welfare by 2031.

Insane.

Is it any wonder when foreign nationals get to come here and live off the state?

Reform will end this madness.
