To Bass' credit, she says she doesn't want Chevron's help. But the whole thing is otherwise reminiscent of Becerra vs. Steyer: a Chevron-backed candidate vs. a progressive with a much stronger climate platform.

Talked with Tim Pawlenty, former Minnesota governor turned CEO of the Solar Energy Industries Association. I went in skeptical that hiring a Republican would do the solar industry any favors. I'm still skeptical, but Pawlenty made some good points!
