As someone who had a long, complicated surgery that absolutely changed my life (and saved a kidney beyond all the other organs and helping my spinal trunk), this seriously concerns me for others needing the same.

@daleethompson Except it’s not "voluntary or dignified" when instead of being offered the supports and treatments people need instead doctors and nurses are suggesting to patients that MAID is either their best or only option—this is called coercion through denial of adequate care.

Alberta govts & AHS have known for at least 10 years that Edmonton is dangerously short on hospital beds.
I wrote this article about it 3 years ago.
