Does Utah really want its residents to turn to illegal or offshore alternatives? Whether it’s prediction markets or gaming, Utahns should have safe legal options—and benefit from the tax revenue.

In my latest piece, I took a closer look at the conversation over robotaxis, from safety and jobs to traffic and accessibility.
Robotaxis are already operating in major US cities, but DC is still debating whether to allow them.

Concerns over safety and traffic deserve attention, but fear of disruption shouldn't stand in the way of innovation.

.@Protectaxpayers is proud to lead this coalition. The reckless push to define “ultraprocessed” foods will result in higher grocery bills for millions of families. @russvought should reject this misguided effort.

The FCC’s approval of Amazon Leo’s Globalstar acquisition is a major win for broadband competition.

More competition means lower prices, better connectivity for rural Americans, and less need for costly taxpayer-funded broadband projects.👏

NEW

The FCC has approved Amazon Leo’s purchase of Globalstar and its 25 megahertz of spectrum.

This will enhance Amazon’s offering of direct-to-device (D2D) services, which will mean even more competition, coverage, and capacity.

Durbin Amendment price controls have harmed millions of consumers. Forcing the Fed to substantially reduce its current 21-cent base cap on debit card interchange fees will only exacerbate these harms.
The 8th Circuit just struck down the Fed’s debit interchange cap in Corner Post, ordering a rewrite that will likely push it even lower. Durbin’s price controls already gutted fee-free checking for millions. Hopefully the 6th Circuit sees it differently in Linney’s Pizza.

.@SenWarren blames private equity for the decline of malls, ignoring the rise of online shopping and changing consumer habits.

Meanwhile, Claire's, Friendly's, and Toys "R" Us are making comebacks.

Retail isn't dying. It's evolving.
Here's how private equity killed your local mall.

Florida’s attorney general is committing to pursue the same anti-speech lawfare playing out in New Mexico.
As I said at the time, the multi-state settlement with Meta was a slap on the wrist. New Mexico was just awarded $25 billion for privacy violations, with $15 billion related to Cambridge Analytica.

The multi-state settlement? $459 million that must be divided up among 48 states for the same violations.

Florida isn't going to sell out to Meta. We're going to hold them accountable.

These rules could stifle medical innovation, limit investment, and delay lifesaving treatments for patients.

.@SteveForbesCEO is right. Broad restrictions on biopharmaceutical partnerships risk driving investment overseas and giving foreign competitors an advantage. Policymakers must protect national security without jeopardizing U.S. competitiveness, innovation, and economic growth.
The COINS Act rightly targets investments that could strengthen China's military capabilities. Expanding restrictions broadly to biopharma risks driving valuable drug discoveries to European competitors instead of U.S. companies. That's not protecting American leadership.
