I really cherish just being able to ‘pop next door’ and sit quietly in our village church for a while. Sometimes when I’m struggling to pray I feel lifted up to do so by the countless prayers offered here down the centuries since medieval times 🙏🏼✝️

“I didn't know that.”

After defending Zionism, @MikeTappTweets is challenged by @ShehabKhan on Jewish people abroad being able to obtain Israeli citizenship while displaced Palestinians cannot return.

His response: “That doesn't sound equal to me.”

You’d never know by this post that the five Israelis are armed IDF soldiers. But they made sure to tell you the Palestinians were definitely the bad guys. Tried, convicted, and sentenced in one headline.

Much like the Cass Review, the Bell Review cloaks ready-made conclusions in the guise of pseudo-academic inquiry, only this time the government preempted critique by feeding friendly media agreed lines before anyone could comb through it. The truth is out but the damage is done.
Only 5,000 kids were surveyed, only 92 were Jewish, only 70 of 92 responded, and 29 said they had faced antisemitism at school. Only 2% said antisemitism was a big problem at their school and we're reclassifying it as a more serious form of racism based on that? Is this a joke?

Anyone who thinks the report into antisemitism is objective needs to read this
Lucy Powell wants every school in England to adopt the IHRA definition of antisemitism. Seven of its eleven examples are about Israel. We analysed the review as well as the 37 news articles about it.

What the review shows:

• Its longest section, 1,073 words, is about pupils pport for Palestine with badges and flags. It mentions antisemitism twice.

• 2,407 words on political impartiality. 267 on supporting the victims of antisemitism.

• 23% of the review is about Israel, Palestine or political expression. In the staff conduct chapter, it is 60%.

• It says a view held by 45% of British adults, that Israel treats Palestinians like the Nazis treated Jews, could be antisemitic. Source: a YouGov poll for the Campaign Against Antisemitism, September 2025.

• Its terms of reference committed it to IHRA's definition of antisemitism in March, eight weeks before the call for evidence opened.

• The review says there is "confusion around the boundary between legitimate political expression and antisemitism". It asked people that directly: 526 of 590 said they could tell the difference. It leaves that answer out.

• 158 of 587 responses criticised the review, including its use of IHRA. It quotes none of them.

• "Three in five Jewish pupils" rests on 70 students.

• A charity named The Academic Study Group, whose only firm policy is opposing boycotts of Israel, lists Sir David Bell on its council. The terms of reference say he has "no conflict of interest".

How the media framed it:

• 27 of 37 reports named the IHRA definition. Only 4 quoted any of its examples about Israel.

• None mentioned the 45% passage, the 158 critical responses or Bell's place on the Academic Study Group council.

• Critics of the definition got 883 words across 37 reports, 828 of them from one NEU statement. The Community Security Trust alone got 1,119.

• 9 reported any criticism of the definition. In 6, the only critic was the NEU.

• 8 put badges, flags or political symbols in the headline or standfirst, in an attempt to reinforce the message that solidarity for Palestine is linked to antisemitism.

• The Times cut "and the genocide in Gaza" from the NEU leader's words and put an ellipsis in its place.

Antisemitism in schools is real, and Jewish children must be protected. A definition that cannot tell Jewish children apart from the Israeli state only benefits the Israeli state, by conflating the two and misrepresenting real antisemitism.

Imaging being a Palestinian teacher/doctor/nurse/human and your own identity can't be displayed because it is "antisemitic." This only confirms that Zionism is racism.

“We were willing to be kind, generous, and even agreed to share the land,” says this Israeli diplomat to me.

A reminder that at partition, in 1947, Jews owned 7% of the land. This guy says they were willing to “share” the 93% that wasn’t even theirs.
There is a word for that.
We were willing to be kind, generous, and even agreed to share the land. But apparently, our willingness to compromise made you mistake our goodwill for weakness - and believe that the land was yours to claim.

Let me be clear: it is not. It never was. And it never will be.

The Land of Israel is the historic homeland of the Jewish people. Our willingness to share it does not erase our history, diminish our rights, or make anyone else its owner.

Just once, I’d like the BBC to centre a Palestinian whose family has been displaced and slaughtered in the name of zionism, instead of someone whose feelings are hurt because a British party called zionism, a racist ideology, racist.

Can anyone remember the last time @BBCNews interviewed a Palestinian about their experience of the racism of Zionism? Having spent the last two weeks interviewing elderly Nakba survivors in Jordan, driven off their land in their teens because of their ethnicity and religion, I'd be happy to suggest some astonishingly articulate victims of Israeli racism who would be only too happy to tell their tragic stories of eviction, slaughter and dispossession. It is like reporting on the Civil Rights movement in the US and only interviewing outraged Whites

“This stupid motion” was written by Palestinians while their people face an ongoing genocide.

This policy - because it is policy now - has exposed the key issue at the heart of the settler colony in Palestine:
Zionism

We aim to address the sickness, not simply the symptoms.
Zack did well on Kuenssberg, he’s good at doing what needs to be done.

But I still wish he’d been facing the gross right wing barrage of stupid questions he was always gonna face about something like climate or cost of living instead of having to defend this stupid motion that damages the Greens.

Wish we could all move on & draw a line under it but they’re not going to let go of it- that’s what the Greens are to the majority of the public now. And I think that’s a disaster.

Tired of this bullshit now.
Zionism is not Judaism. Zionists are not even necessarily Jewish. Zionism is a political position. A great many Jews worldwide disagree with that political position.
The right of the Labour Party has spent more than 10 years weaponising antisemitism for political ends, irrespective of the harm it has caused, including to the anti-Zionist Jews you threw out of your party.
You are the antisemites. Not the Greens.
Get in the bin.
Labour is absolutely right to end Coalition agreements with the Greens where they support 'Zionism is Racism'.

We will not stand with antisemites. No form a racism is acceptable.

The Prime Minister is right to rule out working with the Green Party.

To be clear, the only reason I was able to reach Heidi was because young Palestinians provided cover with rocks against machine-gun- and tear-gas-wielding settlers and soldiers. It’s those kids, not the settler terrorists, who the IDF was hunting after the attack.

This video captures settlers beating Heidi. They clubbed her, kicked her. Pulled her up off the ground to beat her more. Robbed her of all her equipment. If she didn’t have a helmet—and if she was Palestinian—she could be dead.
