💛 Good to spend time at Belfast City Hospital today, meeting staff and seeing the new Da Vinci 5 robotic surgery platform in action. Since May, 130 patients have benefited from robotic-assisted surgery.
Our £1.95m investment will strengthen specialist centres, improve local a new Regional Endometriosis Pathway.
We are making progress on waiting times, but I recognise the challenges remain. There is still a journey ahead, not just in endometriosis care but across women’s health.
We must be ambitious, honest about the gaps and determined to deliver better.
Women deserve better. Right care, right place, right time.

Endometriosis can affect every aspect of a woman’s life. Behind every diagnosis are real people, often living with significant pain, uncertainty and far too long a wait for answers and treatment.
Women deserve better.
This £1.95 million investment is an important step towards improving access to diagnosis, specialist treatment and support, closer to home and through a regional pathway.
There is still much to do, and we cannot afford to stand still. Every improvement we make today matters to the women who need these services now and to those who will depend on them in the years ahead.
Our focus must remain clear: listening, improving access and delivering the right care, in the right place, at the right time.

Our firefighters provide emergency response cover 24 hours a day 365 days a year. They do so often at personal risk. The last thing they need or deserve is to face threat or attack whilst they do their job. Those who think it's fun to target fireworks at appliances or crews should be dealt with severely
Between 6pm on 31/10/26-1am on 1/11/26 NIFRS responded to 89 operational incidents. Several were Halloween related-23 involving bonfires. At 6 incidents fireworks were intentionally directed at attending Crews; no damage/injuries resulted and operational response was maintained.

Ciara was an inspiration to so many, not only as an incredible athlete but through the courage, honesty and dignity with which she faced her cancer diagnosis.
Her openness and humanity throughout her journey will nd comfort to so many others. A truly remarkable woman who leaves a lasting legacy.
My heartfelt thoughts are with her husband, family and friends at this very sad time. 🤍
