Calling all Horror Fans & Monster Kids!
The haunt is rising in Pittsburgh, PA — hometown of horror legends George A. Romero and Tom Savini — and we need YOU to help bring the first retro-drenched Kreature Features Pizzeria & Horror Museum to life for an October 2027 opening.
Pictuas (think Fright Night Special with its midnight-black olive vampire bite, Night of the Demons Pie with possessed cheese, Camp Crystal Lake Slaughterhouse, Freddy’s Nightmare Supreme, and more) coming out of the ovens, a full 80s/90s arcade packed with classics like Splatterhouse, Ghosts ’n Goblins, and more, plus a museum wing loaded with props, memorabilia, art, and more! One cohesive, pizza-powered, spooky experience.
We’re already moving. We’re scoping out brick-and-mortar locations in the Pittsburgh area, talking with famous makeup effects artists (including interest from a legendary one who wants to contribute creations from a major horror franchise), refining the haunted menu, planning the arcade and exhibits, and building the dream step by step.
Backers get the goods. Support the build and score killer rewards: a limited-edition physical NES cartridge of our original 8-bit horror-splatter game Cap’n Retrovania’s Totally Toxic Pizza-Slingin’ Showdown (Halloween night ’87 carnage!), an official Kreature Features Pizzeria & Horror Museum t-shirt, physical copies and subscriptions to our KREATURE FEATURES print magazine, stickers, strat, credits, voting rights, and more depending on your tier.
Any slice of support helps fund the location, kitchen build-out, museum, arcade, and props. Join the Crypt Squad and help turn this lifelong monster-kid dream into a real Pittsburgh haunt. 🍕🎃🍂

Gearing up to launch the official GoFundMe for our brick-and-mortar haunt: Kreature Features Pizzeria & Horror Museum, rising from the grave in Pittsburgh, PA — hometown of horror legends George A. Romero and Tom Savini — for an October 2027 opening!
Huge thanks to everyone who’’re building the first (and only) fully horror-themed pizza restaurant in the United States: a one-of-a-kind destination packed with:
- Hot, themed pizzas inspired by classic horror and monster-kid favorites (Fright Night Special, Night of the Demons Pie, Camp Crystal Lake Slaughterhouse, Freddy’s Nightmare Supreme, and more).
- A full 80s/90s arcade loaded with cabinets like Splatterhouse, Ghosts ’n Goblins, and more.
- A horror museum wing featuring screen-used props, memorabilia, and an art gallery.
This isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a pizza-powered, retro-drenched haunt for the entire horror family.
Being the son of two chefs who owned a pizzeria in York, PA throughout the 80s and 90s, I’m beyond excited to carry that family tradition forward and turn a lifelong monster-kid dream into reality.
We’ll be dropping exclusive rewards right here on X, plus limited Early Bat specials packed with ultra-rare goodies (think physical NES carts, magazine subscriptions, stickers, credits, and more). Stay locked in.
If you love horror, Halloween, pizza, arcades, and 80s/90s monster kid culture, we need you. Help us open the doors and join the nightmare.
Stay radical. Stay spooky.

Dr. Evil’s Horror Theatre (1962–1969) was a hosted horror movie show starring Philip Morris as “Dr. Evil” on WBTV in Charlotte, North Carolina. Promo ad for their first color broadcast (date unknown):
Have you ever walked through a graveyard late at night and seen a coffin open? e like to see a person’s head amputated? Think of horrors so terrible the mind can’t imagine them. See it all live on stage with that crazy mixed-up Dr. Evil and his Terrors of the Unknown!
Unlike anything you’ve seen or heard before. Hideous creatures from beyond the grave leave the stage and grab girls right out of their seats. Girls, don’t come alone—bring your boyfriend to protect you when the lights go out. You might find a live snake or rat under your seat.
A real dead body is given away to a lucky person every performance. Also in person: the mummy and King Kong (the famous Hollywood gorilla, real and alive), plus two horrific motion pictures on the screen! 💀

Should we add monster cereal–themed ice cream shakes to the menu? Picture these limited-time Halloween-season monsters available all day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner:
Count Chocula’s Midnight Fang:
Rich chocolate ice cream blended with crushed Count Chocula cereal, a swirl of chocolate syrup, and a marshmallow cloud top. Finished with a chocolate-dipped rim and a tiny plastic fang pick. Dark, creamy, and just the right amount of vampire-level decadence.
Franken Berry’s Lab Experiment:
Strawberry ice cream shaken with Franken Berry cereal pieces, a blast of bright berry puree, and a green “monster” sugar rim. Served with a whipped cream bolt and a side of extra cereal crunch. Sweet, chaotic, and slightly radioactive-looking — in the best way.
Boo Berry’s Phantom Float:
Blueberry ice cream blended with Boo Berry cereal, a splash of vanilla cream, and a cool blueberry swirl. Topped with a ghostly whipped cream drift and a handful of floating marshmallow ghosts. Light, berry-forward, and properly spectral.
These would sit right alongside the themed pizzas, 80s/90s arcade cabinets, and horror memorabilia as pure monster-kid fuel.
Would you order one (or all three) during the Halloween season? Drop your vote below — and if you’ve got even wilder monster cereal shake ideas, we want to hear them.
Stay spooky.

Fat Albert’s Halloween Special premiered on CBS as a prime-time special, and 49 years later it still feels like pure Saturday-morning Halloween fuel. 🎃
The Junkyard Gang heads to Root ’n Rummage Emporium for costumes and gets the brush-off from the shopkeeper, so they do what : they build their own. Fat Albert rolls out as Super Albert in a red cape with a big “FA” on the chest. Russell goes giant, Rudy the clown, Weird Harold the matador, Dumb Donald the ghost, Mushmouth the robot, and the rest of the crew in equally homemade glory. Then it’s off to cause a little controlled chaos.
They try to scare Searchlight Johnson at the movies, get tangled up with Mudfoot Brown (who happily helps himself to most of their candy), and finally set their sights on Miss Bakewell, the old woman who lives near the cemetery and has everyone convinced she’s some kind of Halloween villain. When a couple of the kids vanish inside her house, the rest of the gang panic and charge in… only to find warm lights, sodas, and the best treats of the night. The real scare was all in their heads.
It’s classic Filmation energy — bright colors, “Hey hey hey!” swagger, a lesson about not judging people by how old or mysterious they look, and that unmistakable 1970s after-school cartoon heart. Latchkey-kid gold that still hits on Halloween night.
Who else grew up with this one? What was your favorite homemade costume in the special, or did Miss Bakewell’s house give you a genuine chill the first time? Drop it below. 🎃👻🍫

October 31, 1992 — 34 years ago tonight — Hanna-Barbera’s Monster in My Pocket: The Big Scream premiered on ABC as a prime-time Halloween special!
Based on the Matchbox toy line, this pocket-sized monster mayhem sent the good guys (Dr. Henry Davenport the Invisible Man, Wolf after Vampire and his crew after a shrinking spell backfires and blows the whole Monster Mountain prison to Los Angeles. Absolute latchkey-kid gold that never got the series it deserved. 👻🧛🧪🎃

🎃 Spooky Trick or Treat Memory: Elvira’s Halloween Special from Salem, MA — October 31, 1986 on MTV 🎃
Picture it: late October 1986, the living room still smelling like leftover candy corn and cold cereal, the TV tuned to MTV because that’s where the real Halloween action was. as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, pops up from Salem, Massachusetts — standing by the “You Are Now Entering Salem” sign, wandering the Witch Museum souvenir shop, and rolling into the completely made-up Salem State College of Witchcraft & Voodoo with George McGrath and a young Julia Sweeney.
This was her second big MTV Halloween special (after the 1984 one), a roughly four-hour mix of skits, trick-or-treat tips, and a countdown of spooky music videos. You got Bauhaus’ “Bela Lugosi’s Dead,” Ozzy’s “Bark at the Moon,” The Cure, Siouxsie, Alice Cooper, Grace Jones, Iron Maiden, and more, all wrapped in pure Elvira camp: the low-cut black gown, the valley-girl one-liners, the power-drill pumpkin carving energy, and that jaunty “Elvira’s in Salem” theme. Peak mid-’80s MTV Halloween — when the channel still played music and horror hosts felt like they were right in your living room.
Who else caught this one live on MTV that night (or later on a traded VHS)? Favorite skit, music video, or Elvira line from the Salem special? Drop it below. 🎃🍫
