I was honored to join hundreds of volunteers in our Peoria community for Goodwill’s 18th Annual Stand Down for Homeless Veterans this morning.

This incredible event served more than 250 veterans by providing them with winter essentials and helping connect them with the care and luding haircuts and health screenings.

A special thanks to the entire Goodwill staff, every volunteer and the veteran assistance organizations that came together to support those who served our country. 🇺🇸

I stopped by Peoria Christian High School and spoke with a bright group of students about how legislation becomes law, the importance of providing good constituent service and the role my faith plays in my day-to-day life.

I’m deeply disturbed by the attempted attack at the Hindu temple in Aurora. A place of worship should be a sacred and safe place where families can gather and practice their faith without fear.

This kind of hate and violence has no place in our country. I’m grateful Congressman Krishnamoorthi, his family, and everyone at the temple are safe. The criminal who attempted to carry out this heinous and despicable crime must be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.

Incredible turnout at today’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Peoria!

I’ll always stand shoulder to shoulder with the families and individuals impacted by Alzheimer’s while I continue my work in Congress to invest in research, improve early detection, and support patients as we work hanks to all the volunteers and participants who made this year’s Walk a tremendous success!

It was great to tour Rock Valley College’s new downtown campus with President Howard Spearman and get a firsthand look at their programs that prepare students for careers in the trades and strengthen our local economy.

I’ve been proud to go to bat for a $480,000 federal he college’s law enforcement training program, and look forward to getting this funding across the finish line to improve public safety across Northern Illinois.

It was great to stop the Lay’s farm in Bloomington to see how harvest was coming along and discuss the importance of renewing the USMCA and the need for the Senate to pass the Farm Bill I was proud to support in the House.
