Ashtabula Towers has been a staple of the Ashtabula community for nearly 50 years. I was proud to help secure around $3.9 million in federal funding toward the $32.8 million rehabilitation of this senior housing community.

These improvements will modernize heating and cooling efficiency, and help ensure Ashtabula seniors have a safe, comfortable, and affordable place to call home.

Youngstown Air Reserve Station (YARS) is a critical national security asset and an important part of the Mahoning Valley economy. That is why I led a bipartisan letter with the entire Ohio Congressional Delegation, urging the Air Force to give YARS full consideration as the home Communications Squadron.

The squadron would bring 22 full-time and 128 part-time Air Reserve personnel to YARS, expand the base’s capabilities, and support economic growth in the region. I will continue pushing for investments that support YARS, our service members, and Northeast Ohio.

It was a pleasure joining Mayor Ann Womer Benjamin for a sneak peek opening of Aurora Park at Geauga Lake to see how this historic site is being transformed. Thank you to the mayor, city officials, and everyone who helped bring new life to Geauga Lake, making it a beautiful new s and visitors to enjoy for generations to come.

Last week, I led a letter with my colleagues in the Congressional Croatian Caucus, urging the Senate to advance the U.S.-Croatia double taxation treaty. This treaty will strengthen our economic ties and make it easier for Americans and Croatians to invest and do business in both countries.

On National First Responders Day, I want to thank the men and women who put their lives on the line every day to keep Northeast Ohio safe. Their courage and commitment to protecting our communities deserve our gratitude not just today, but year-round.

In Congress, I will keep hat help them do their jobs safely, and I will continue to bring home federal resources that invest in our first responders and public safety professionals.

Great to be back at Camp James A. Garfield (C-JAG) to see firsthand how its training facilities are being upgraded to better prepare our service members. Thank you, LTC Shaun Robinson, for the tour and for all you and your team do to keep our Ohio National Guard soldiers trained, As a member of the House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, I was proud to support the FY2026 Defense Appropriations Act, which provides critical funding for National Guard training nationwide.

As Breast Cancer Awareness Month ends, the fight for patients continues. No one battling metastatic breast cancer should have to wait for the care and benefits they need. I’m proud to cosponsor the bipartisan Metastatic Breast Cancer Access to Care Act to eliminate those waiting periods.

As Co-Chair of the Congressional Croatian Caucus, it was an honor to attend tonight’s opening of the A250 Military Exhibition at the American-Croatian Lodge in Eastlake, hosted by the Embassy of Croatia. Northeast Ohio has deep Croatian roots, and this exhibition recognizes served our country in the U.S. Armed Forces, including Medal of Honor recipients, and honors their courage and sacrifice.

Thank you, @CroatiaInUSA, for including me in this meaningful event. Through my role as Co-Chair, I’ve worked to strengthen the economic and strategic ties between the U.S. and Croatia, and I look forward to continuing that work.

Red Ribbon Week is about more than raising awareness. It's about helping young people make informed choices and building communities where prevention, treatment, and recovery are priorities. As Co-Chair of the Congressional Addiction, Treatment, and Recovery Caucus, I was glad to support a resolution recognizing Red Ribbon Week, October 23–31. The progress we've seen in Northeast Ohio shows why this work matters.

Thank you to the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber for hosting a productive roundtable discussion at Trumbull Industries in Warren. We began with a tour of the facility before discussing key issues facing the Mahoning Valley. I appreciated hearing directly from local business orities and how we can continue strengthening Northeast Ohio’s economy.

This Red Ribbon Week, we’re recognizing the importance of drug prevention and celebrating progress right here in Northeast Ohio. Since 2020, overdose deaths in Lake County have fallen by more than 75%. As Co-Chair of the Congressional Addiction, Treatment, and Recovery Caucus, I’ve worked to support efforts to combat the overdose crisis nationwide. That progress reflects the power of prevention, treatment, recovery, and communities working together to save lives. We must keep it going.

It is important to me that all Northeast Ohioans know that quality care is close by. That is why I was proud to preliminarily secure $2 million in Community Project Funding for ARMC to upgrade its existing Level I cardiac catheterization lab to a Level II interventional cath lab. This upgrade would expand access to life-saving cardiac care in rural Ashtabula County. I will keep working to expand accessible and affordable treatment centers for Ohioans.

I am proud to have supported the creation of the Rural Health Transformation Program, which has awarded $1,377,479 to Ashtabula Regional Medical Center for quality-improvement projects. This investment will help local providers improve how they deliver care and bring services closer to home for patients across Ashtabula County.

I was glad to join Auburn Career Center as they celebrated the completion of more than $9 million in campus improvements, including a new Workforce Innovation Center, expanded Cosmetology labs, and a new Healthcare Wing. These improvements will provide students with valuable elp prepare them to join the workforce.
