Secretary McMahon has denied many borrowers the loan relief they were promised and earned, even when they've made the required number of payments. Teachers and other public service workers made academic and career decisions based on this promise; they deserve better. I support this class action lawsuit to hold the Department of Education accountable for their failure to implement the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program.

Education Secretary McMahon is using $43,000 in taxpayer funds to remodel her office, but refuses to fund important education programs. The hypocrisy is obvious.

Too many Oregonians and Americans are struggling with high costs. We need change. Groceries, gas, health care, and energy costs -- the basics -- are increasingly out of reach. Trump is choosing price hikes over the American people.

Dolores Huerta’s generation-defining bravery, leadership, and dedication to the labor movement show her resilience and commitment to a brighter world. I join all who knew her inmourning her passing and celebrating her life and legacy.

The cost of housing can make or break a family’s budget. Affordable housing programs, such as the Housing Choice Voucher Program, are essential safety nets when the housing market can’t meet the needs of the community. This award will enable the Housing Authority of Portland to work to support our most vulnerable households and keep roofs over the heads of countless Portland families.

October is Head Start Awareness Month. Thank you to the countless educators and administrators across Oregon and the country who work tirelessly to support early learners and their families. I will keep fighting to fully fund this essential program so children and families get rt they need to succeed.

Students give me hope for the future. I had a great tour and visit at McKinley Elementary in Beaverton. Thank you to the educators and staff for all you do to support students. And a special shoutout to the fifth graders for such thoughtful civics questions!

Congratulations to the Columbia River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission on the opening of the Coastal Margin Observation and Prediction (CMOP) office in Astoria! The research and science from this office will help us understand and protect the health of the Columbia River, salmon, and able to secure federal funding to support this work.

Students thrive when they have access to a well-rounded education and wraparound support services at school. I introduced a bipartisan resolution in support of a whole child approach to education. Students are more likely to thrive when they have support inside and out of the classroom.

It will soon be 2027 and the grand opening of the James Beard Public Market in downtown Portland! I got a sneak peek at the progress and can’t wait to be back for the ribbon cutting.
