I’m proud to have recently secured nearly $10.2 million in federal funding to upgrade critical infrastructure at the Port of Red Wing. Red Wing Grain purchases soybeans and corn from over 1,200 farmers across the city of Red Wing and ships over 500 river barges of grain per year. Earlier this year, the Trump Admin deported my constituent, Kenis Lopez Gonzalez — an immigrant from Nicaragua who fled political violence — to the Central African Republic. Kenis is a business owner and had a work permit as well as a court order preventing his deportation.

Third-country deportations are dangerous and unacceptable. There is no reason a law-abiding Minnesotan should be deported to a country where they have never been. This has to stop.

The Appleton private prison ICE recently purchased from CoreCivic was originally up for sale for $75 million. The Trump Admin bought it for $495.6 million.

Conveniently, CoreCivic also contributed to Trump’s inauguration.

This is more than just a sweet deal for CoreCivic — it’s yet another example of this admin’s corrupt self-dealing.

I’m proud to announce the @NatlParkService is designating Savage as a WWII Heritage City! Whether it was offering translation services, building ships or distributing supplies to aid the war effort, folks in Savage played a critical role during WWII. Today, they are finally getting the recognition they deserve.

I recently met with the Libets family, my constituents who settled in CD2 after escaping the war in Ukraine. My team helped the Libetses with their visa application when they first arrived in Minnesota as refugees.
