Redoing my design portfolio from many years ago is such a fitting task for Mercury Retrograde and it's long overdue... years overdue. I've not wanted to do this for ages, but the hard work is paying off massively. It's looking so good!

To keep it very real, I have an involuntary distrust of people who actively enjoy alcohol and repeatedly frequently drink it. A byproduct of experience.

My husband has used AI agents to revive old fonts, ornaments, & cuts from 19th century newspapers. The agents even built an editor where you can create your own invitations/pamphlets/cards using old cuts & fonts. Have been using it for @Quillette invitations already

It is truly weird that no one is talking about this stuff. It’s hard to know how serious to take it or what steps are really needed.
It seems like we're in a pretty hot moment cybersecurity wise 😬 If you're reading this website, you probably know more than most of the people in your life about what's happening! they're not talking about any of this stuff on the news, it's too arcane and weird and sudden. It is on us.

Good time to call or text your family and friends, have some cash on hand, have a meetup point in your neighborhood for if the Internet goes down entirely, etc.

The full prepper mode for shit hitting the fan is probably something like what Andreas posted here but you can get 80% of the way with 20% of the effort. Think about what that would mean for you in your situation, and the people you care about, and talk to them about it sooner than later.

And as always, the most important part of prepping is having a strong support network and caring for each other. "Going off grid" isn't the move, it just makes you isolated and you have to do everything yourself. We are social animals. Community is our superpower 🫡🫡🫡

I find it so easy to unconsciously absorb others' opinions and projections and thoughts and things, or apply negative/critical tweets I read here to myself and feel crappy about x thing for a while.

Being on here less has been good for this I think. But I do love it here 🩷

Something infinitely intelligent with an agenda seems to take each of our hands and help us snake through endless possibilities and lead us toward perfection, toward completion, teaching lessons and guiding us toward whatever our souls need to learn to grow in love.

I sometimes don’t understand why exactly I am where I am. But I do see that whatever I’m doing right now, wherever I am, is where I’m supposed to be. And my lack of understanding is alright, too. My smaller self’s opinions are waves in a sea of glass.
