The UK government has just announced the Mersey Valley Way as the first of 9 river walks.

Will it open up new paths and opportunities in the northwest, or is it just an existing walk with some improvements and a new name?

We’ll be watching closely to see what comes next.

Yesterday, @DefraGovUK published its long-awaited Environmental Improvement Plan for England.

We're pleased to see a re-commitment that everyone should live within 15 mins of green/blue space...

But time is ticking. ⌛
