I shared a documentary by Sabir Bhatia on my social media detailing the long-standing friendship between Gautam Adani and Narendra Modi, and how the Indian industrial landscape is consequently being handed over to Adani. It garnered over 4.8 million views on Twitter alone and g response on Facebook as well, not to mention the additional, uncounted views from shares by others.

My intention was for this serious issue to reach the public, and that objective has been achieved. While Sabir Bhatia produced this documentary recently, I had already delivered a major presentation back in January 2026 at Shivtirth in Mumbai, illustrating how the Adani Group is effectively setting out to swallow the entire nation.

That presentation received an exceptional response, and those videos remain available on my social media to this day. In fact, some clips from our presentation were even incorporated into this documentary. Anyways.

I have clarified my stance on this matter time and again: my opposition is not directed at any specific individual, but rather against the rise of a monopoly. I have often stated in my speeches that the Prime Minister should foster the growth of many industrialists across the country, creating vast employment opportunities and generating immense wealth for the nation, and empower them to conquer global markets.

However, if the government chooses to favor only one person to the point where it poses a threat to the nation, we oppose it and will continue to do so. My opposition is, therefore, directed against any form of monopoly, whether it involves Adani or anyone else.

Even now, the central government has directed the state government to hand over several hundred hectares of forest land in Bhimashankar to the Gujarat-based Torrent Group. This government has handed over vast tracts of forest and wilderness land in Maharashtra to a select group of industrialist friends, and it plans to hand over even more! I care little about which political party anyone belongs to; however, as citizens of Maharashtra, how can you remain so indifferent while our state is being sold off right before your very eyes? Does it not even spark a sense of outrage among our Marathi Members of Parliament, MLAs, and ministers to see this happening? Such total submission to power is entirely inconsistent with the history, traditions, and culture of Maharashtra. Why, then, do you bother raising slogans in the name of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj or putting on a farce by singing the state anthem? Anyway..

Sabeer Bhatia’s documentary received such an overwhelming response that it was only natural for those in power to grow anxious, fearing that their secrets might be exposed. The intensity of this fear must have been significant, as I received a request, conveyed through the Mumbai Police Commissioner, to take it down.

My primary objective, both during the meeting in January 2026 and through the subsequent posting of this documentary, was and remains, to enlighten the nation. However, the request I received came from the Mumbai Police Commissioner. The Mumbai and Maharashtra Police forces are among the most efficient in the country, and I have always held them in high regard. Out of respect for the head of the Mumbai Police, I am choosing to honor this request.

Therefore, I am deleting the post containing the documentary. The fire has already been ignited. In January 2026, from Shivteerth, I ignited a spark against the authoritarianism in this country, that has now grown into a raging wildfire. Our struggle continues. Our post from January 2026 remains exactly where it was, and it will stay there. The documentary we shared was produced by others; our sole objective was to ensure it reached the public, a goal that has been achieved. On this occasion, I am bringing our well-researched analysis of this subject back into the spotlight. I am re-sharing a portion of our January 2026 presentation here; please take another look.

गौतम अदानी आणि नरेंद्र मोदी यांचा दोस्ताना कसा जुना आहे, आणि यातून अदानींच्या घशात भारतीय उद्योग विश्व कसं घातलं जात आहे याची पूर्ण माहिती देणारी सबीर भाटिया यांची डॉक्युमेंट्री मी माझ्या सोशल मीडियावर शेअर केली. त्याला ४८ लाखांपेक्षा जास्त व्ह्यूज फक्त ट्विटरवर मिळाले, फेसबुकवर मिळाला. हे झाले माझ्या सोशल मीडियावरचे व्ह्यूज, बाकी लोकांनी शेअर केलं ते वेगळं आणि त्यातून मिळालेले व्ह्यूज याची मोजदादच नाही.

थोडक्यात हा गंभीर विषय लोकांपर्यंत पोहचला पाहिजे ही माझी इच्छा होती, तो हेतू साध्य झाला. अर्थात सबीर भाटियांनी ही डॉक्युमेंट्री आत्ता बनवली. पण त्याच्या आधीच जानेवारी २०२६ ला मुंबईतील शिवतिर्थ येथून मी एक मोठं प्रेझेंटेशन केलं होतं, ज्यात अदानीं समूह शब्दशः हा देश कसा गिळंकृत करायला निघाला आहे हे दाखवलं होतं.
त्याला अद्वितीय असा प्रतिसाद मिळाला. ते व्हिडीओज आजही माझ्या सोशल मीडियावर आहेत. आम्ही जे सादरीकरण केलं त्यातल्याच काही क्लिप्स या डॉक्युमेंट्रीत पण वापरल्या गेल्या. असो.

या विषयाच्या बाबत मी माझी भूमिका या आधी अनेकदा स्पष्ट केली आहे. माझा व्यक्तीला विरोध नाही तर एकाधिकारशाहीला विरोध आहे. मी माझ्या भाषणातून अनेकवेळा सांगितलं की पंतप्रधानांनी देशातील अनेक उद्योगपती मोठे करावेत आणि ज्यातून प्रचंड रोजगार या देशात निर्माण करावा आणि प्रचंड पैसा या देशात निर्माण व्हावा! तसेच या देशातील अनेक उद्योगपतींना जग पादाक्रांत करण्याची शक्ती द्यावी.

पण ते सोडून जर एकाचेच लाड करणार असाल आणि त्याने देशाला धोका निर्माण होणार असेल तर आमचा त्याला विरोध आहे आणि यापुढेही राहील. त्यामुळे अदानीच काय कोणाच्याही एकाधिकारशाहीला विरोध असणारच आहे.

आत्ता देखील आपल्या भीमाशंकर येथील काहीशे हेक्टर वनजमीन गुजरात मधल्या टोरेंट कंपनीच्या घशात घालायला राज्य सरकारला केंद्र सरकारने सांगितलं आहे. महाराष्ट्रातल्या अनेक वनजमिनी या सरकारने ठरावीक मित्र मंडळी उद्योगपतींच्या घशात घातल्या आहेत आणि अजुन घालायच्या ठरवल्या आहेत ! आज कोण कुठच्या पक्षात आहे याच्याशी मला काही देणे घेणं नाही, परंतु आपण या महाराष्ट्राचे नागरिक आहोत आणि आपल्या डोळ्यांदेखत महाराष्ट्र विकला जातोय हे बघताना तुमची तळपायाची आग मस्तकात कशी जात नाही याचंच मला आश्चर्य वाटतं ! महाराष्ट्रातल्या आपल्या मराठी खासदारांना , आमदारांना, मंत्र्यांना हे आपल्या डोळ्यांसमोर घडतंय याचा राग सुद्धा येत नाही ? सत्तेसमोर इतकं शरण जाणं हे महाराष्ट्राच्या इतिहासाला, परंपरेला आणि संस्कृतीला शोभणारे नाही. कशाला मग आपल्या शिवछत्रपतींच्या घोषणा देता आणि महाराष्ट्र गीत गाण्याचा फार्स करता ? असो..

पण सबीर भाटिया यांची डॉक्युमेंट्री शेअर केल्यावर तिला इतका प्रचंड प्रतिसाद आला की, वरच्यांच्या पोटात गोळा उत्पन्न होणे आणि आपलं गुपित फुटलं याची भीती निर्माण होणं हे स्वाभाविक होतं. पण ती इतकी तीव्र असावी की मला मुंबईच्या पोलीस आयुक्तांच्या मार्फत ही डॉक्युमेंट्री काढावी अशी विनंती केली गेली असावी.

मुळात मला जे म्हणायचं होतं ते जानेवारी २०२६ च्या सभेत आणि पुन्हा या डॉक्युमेंट्रीला पोस्ट करण्याच्या निमित्ताने केलं गेलं; यातून देशाचं प्रबोधन होणं हाच उद्देश होता आणि आहे ! पण मला आलेली विनंती ही मुंबई पोलीस आयुक्तांची आहे. मुंबई आणि महाराष्ट्र पोलीस हे देशातील सर्वात कार्यक्षम पोलीस दल आहे आणि माझ्या मनात नेहमीच त्यांच्याबद्दल आदर राहिला आहे. अशा मुंबई पोलिसांच्या प्रमुखाने केलेल्या विनंतीचा मान राखतोय इतकंच.

म्हणून ही डॉक्युमेंट्रीची पोस्ट मी डिलीट करतोय. बाकी जी आग लागायची ती लागली आहे. जानेवारी २०२६ ला शिवतीर्थावरून मी या देशातील एकाधिकारशाहीच्या विरोधात ठिणगी टाकली तिचा वणवा पेटला आहे. आमचा लढा सुरु आहे. जानेवारी २०२६ ची आमची पोस्ट अजून तिथेच आहे आणि तिथेच राहील.आम्ही शेअर केलेली डॉक्युमेंट्री दुसऱ्यांनी बनवली होती ती पण लोकांपर्यंत पोहचावी हा उद्देश होता जो साध्य झाला. या विषयावर आम्ही केलेली अभ्यासपूर्ण मांडणी ही या निमित्ताने पुन्हा समोर आणतोय. आमच्या जानेवारी २०२६ च्या प्रेझेंटेशनचा भाग परत इथे देतोय. परत एकदा नक्की बघा..

सध्या महाराष्ट्रात एक ‘फ्रेंडशिप फाईल’ ऑडिओ क्लिप व्हायरल होत आहे. तुम्ही सगळ्यांनी ऐकली असेल. भारतीय जनता पक्षाचे काही पदाधिकारी, या पक्षाच्या सोशल मीडियात महत्वाची भूमिका बजावणारे, राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघाचे एक ज्येष्ठ पदाधिकारी आणि स्वतःला निष्पक्ष राजकीय विश्लेषक म्हणवणारे पण खरंतर भारतीय जनता पक्षाच्या चिखलफेक सैन्याचं चिलखत घालून फिरणारे काही युट्युब प्रभावक यांच्यातल्या मैत्रीची ’फ्रेंडशिप फाईल’ ऑडिओ क्लिप. यांत कोणी कोणाला ५०० कोटी दिले इथपासून ते थेट माध्यमांना आम्ही कशी जरब दाखवू शकतो, ते एखादा भावनिक मुद्दा सरकारच्या अंगाशी आला तर लगेच त्या मुद्द्यापासून लोकांचं लक्ष कसं भरकटवायचं यासाठी नविन धार्मिक ध्रुवीकरणाचा मुद्दा कसा रेटला पाहिजे यासाठी काय केलं पाहिजे याचीही चर्चा करताना ऐकायला येत आहे. ही क्लिप खरंतर २९ मिनिटांची आहे. त्यातल्या ५०० कोटींचा मुद्दा गाजतोय. त्यावर खुलासे येतील आणि यायलाच पाहिजेत. पण भारतीय जनता पक्ष काय पद्धतीने समाज माध्यमं, माध्यमं यांच्यावर दडपशाही आणत आहे यावर पण चर्चा व्हायला हवी.

मुख्यमंत्र्यांनी मी ऑडिओ क्लिपचा फॉरेन्सिक रिपोर्ट मागवला आहे असं म्हणून वेळ मारून न्यायचा प्रयत्न केला आहे. फॉरेन्सिक अहवाल हा ऑडिओ किंवा व्हिडिओची तथ्यता याबरोबर खून, बलात्कार, आर्थिक घोटाळे यांच्यासारख्या गंभीर गुन्ह्यात पुराव्यांची तथ्यता तपासण्यासाठी मागवला जातो. खरतर यातलं संभाषण ऐकलं तर समजतंच आहे की हा लोकशाहीचा खुन आणि बलात्कारच आहे ! म्हणजे जे बोललं आहे ते गंभीर आहे आणि त्याची तपासणी व्हायला पाहिजे हे मुख्यमंत्र्यांना मान्य आहे हे बरं झालं. पुराव्यातील तथ्य तपासाच पण यांत बोललं गेलं आहे याबद्दल तुम्ही जर अनभिज्ञ असाल तर तुमच्या पाठीमागे काय काय सुरु होतं हे पण तपासा. मुख्यमंत्री म्हणाले की ही क्लिप बहुदा २ वर्षांपूर्वीची असावी, ती आत्ताच का आली ? खरतर ही क्लिप बाहेर आली कशी आणि ती आणली कोणी हा पण महत्वाचा प्रश्न आहे. खरतर याच्यात सरकार मधलं नेहमीप्रमाणे शहा काट’शाहाचं’ राजकारणच दिसतंय , आणि हो फॉरेन्सिक अहवाल, त्यातील तांत्रिकता याच्यात महाराष्ट्राला गोल गोल घुमवू नका. महाराष्ट्राला जे कळायचं आहे ते कळलं आहे. ते तुम्हाला मान्य आहे आणि मुख्यमंत्री म्हणून तुम्ही किती निष्पक्ष आहात आणि तुम्ही कारवाई केली आहेत हे महाराष्ट्राला दाखवून द्या. तरंच या फॉरेन्सिकला अर्थ आहे, अन्यथा तुमच्या फायद्यासाठी वाकवलेला फॉरेन्सिक ठरेल.

महाराष्ट्रातील ३२५ तालुक्यांमध्ये राज्य सरकारने दुष्काळ जाहीर केला असून, या गंभीर परिस्थितीचा आज मुंबईत ग्रामीण भागातील माझ्या पदाधिकारी सहकाऱ्यांशी भेटून सविस्तर आढावा घेतला.

यावेळी दुष्काळग्रस्त भागांतील परिस्थिती, शेतकऱ्यांच्या समस्या आणि ग्रामीण जनतेला भेडसावणाऱ्या अडचणींवर पत्रकारांशी संवाद साधत दुष्काळाच्या प्रश्नासह राज्यातील इतर राजकीय घडामोडींवरही भूमिका मांडली.

⁠२०१८ पासून मी बॅलेटपेपरवर निवडणुका व्हाव्यात यासाठी प्रयत्न तील अनेक नेते आणि निवडणूक आयुक्तांनाही भेटलो होतो. त्यावेळी मी काय बोलतोय हे लोकांना कळालं नाही ते आता कळतंय.

•⁠ ⁠मतदानाच्या प्रक्रियेत पारदर्शकता असायला हवी. मी मतदान करतोय याचं समाधान मला असलं पाहिजे.

•⁠ ⁠जगातील बहुतांश पुढारलेल्या देशांमध्ये बॅलेट पेपरवर मतदान होतं. फ्रान्समध्ये एका मतदाराने तक्रार केल्यानंतर तिथली ईव्हीएम मशीन्स बंद करून बॅलेट पेपरवर मतदान सुरू झालं मग भारतात ईव्हीएम मशिन्स कशाला हव्यात?

•⁠ ⁠पुढच्या साधारण ३ ते ४ महिन्याांमध्ये या देशात काहीतरी मोठी गडबड होईल एवढं निश्चित.

•⁠ ⁠पुढील काळात सरकारमधल्या अनेक गोष्टी समोर येतील. सरकार चुकांवर चुका करत राहील त्यातून काही महिन्यांमध्ये संपूर्ण देश रस्त्यावर आला तरी मला आश्चर्य वाटणार नाही.

•⁠ ⁠सरकारने महाराष्ट्रातील ३००-३२५ तालुक्यांमध्ये दुष्काळ जाहीर केला आहे. ही परिस्थिती आणखी खराब होणार आहे आणि कोणतीही पूर्वतयारी नसल्याने ती परिस्थिती सरकारला झेपणार नाही.

•⁠ ⁠अमेरिकेतील कलाकार राष्ट्राध्यक्षांविषयी मत मांडतात म्हणून लगेच त्यांच्या चित्रपटांवर बहिष्कार घातला जात नाही. आपल्याकडे त्याच भीतीने अनेक कलाकार बोलत नाहीत.

•⁠ ⁠शांततेत आंदोलन करणाऱ्या मुलांवर तुम्ही लाठीचार्ज केला, पोलिसांच्या गणवेशात तुम्ही तुमच्या पक्षाचे लोकं घुसवलेत, तुम्ही हंगामा केला, मुलांनी काहीच केलं नव्हतं.

•⁠ ⁠सबीर भाटीया यांनी अदानींवर एक डॉक्युमेंट्री बनवली आहे, ती काढून टाकायला सांगितलं आहे. कशाला काढायची? लोकांना पाहुदेत. प्रत्येक वेळी भाजपने स्पॉन्सर केलेलेच चित्रपट पाहायचे का आम्ही?

•⁠ ⁠नागरी सुरक्षेच्या प्रश्नाकडे गांभीर्याने बघितलं पाहिजे. हीच परिस्थिती जर भारतीय जनता पक्ष विरोधात असताना घडली असती तर ते काय बोलले असते?

•⁠ ⁠लॉरेन्स बिश्नोईसारख्या लोकांना जेलमधून बाहेर काढून फटकावून काढला पाहिजे. त्याशिवाय कायद्याची भीती कशी राहिल?

•⁠ ⁠मी अनेकदा हे सांगितलं आहे, आपल्याकडे लॉ आहे पण ऑर्डर नाही. माझा मुंबई आणि महाराष्ट्र पोलिसांवर १०० टक्के विश्वास आहे, त्यांना फ्री हँड दिला तर ते क्राईम रेट शून्यावर आणतील.

•⁠ ⁠गेल्या काही वर्षांमध्ये देशात साचलेल्या गोष्टी फार काळ दबून राहू शकत नाहीत. प्रत्येकाचा राग हा एक ना एक दिवस बाहेर येईल.

“No nation can be grateful at the cost of its liberty” - these are the words of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. He made this profound statement while presenting the draft of the Indian Constitution in November 1949. The nation's values of freedom and expression must never be jeopardized for the sake of blind devotion to a leader or to indulge their eccentric behavior.

This statement needs to be reiterated today because the duo of Modi and Shah harbors an extreme authoritarian mindset. Leveraging this authoritarianism, they captured the country's institutions to seize power. Power that is now being wielded solely to serve the interests of a handful of industrialists. If protesters are to be crushed and arrested simply for opposing this arrogant abuse of power or demonstrating against it, then this unchecked tyranny must be uprooted from the country, from the grassroots to the highest levels.

Are protests forbidden in this country? Are questions not to be asked? Who are you to snatch away the right to protest? Protests have been ongoing in Delhi since October 3rd, demanding the resignation of the corrupt Chief Election Commissioner, Gyanesh Kumar. Using the Delhi Police as an instrument, the government not only crushed protesters but also harassed the female journalists covering the agitation.

Fearing protests in Delhi today, you have shut down metro services, blocked roads, suspended internet and bus services, and are even detaining protesters directly from flights. What kind of approach is this? Young men and women in their twenties and thirties across the country are restless; they cannot see a future for themselves. That is why they are taking to the streets to protest peacefully, and you are trying to crush them? With what face will Modi go around the world claiming that our country is democratic? Is this democracy?

I don’t understand this immense love for Gyanesh Kumar. Is it because Gyanesh Kumar, and the election officials before him, are your instruments for seizing power? The Election Commission is an autonomous body. What’s wrong in demanding the resignation of its chief if he has messed up things? What’s wrong with wanting an honest and transparent electoral system? My right to vote is being taken away, I am unable to track where and to whom my vote is going. Don’t I have the right to express my anger when my vote is getting insulted this way? Or is it that the two leaders at the top fear that if Gyanesh Kumar is forced to resign and reveals the masterminds behind the vote theft, the entire charade of their power will be exposed?

Under Articles 19(1)(a) and (b) of the Indian Constitution, citizens have the full right to stage peaceful protests. Why do you wish to crush this right? Just yesterday, the Honorable Supreme Court asked, "Why use a sledgehammer to swat a fly?" Typically, the police department in Maharashtra detains protesters and then releases them, ensuring that citizens' constitutional rights remain intact in the process. But in Delhi, female journalists covering the protest have complained of harassment by the police after being detained. If those covering the protest are being harassed, what guarantee is there that the protesters themselves will be treated properly?

It appears that the anger over the youth of this country forcing you to yield and compelling Dharmendra Pradhan to resign has not yet subsided. During the Anna Hazare agitation, Modi and Shah allowed protests to take place in Gujarat because it served their interests; yet, while in power in that very state, they crushed numerous protests against their own government. In short, their hypocrisy and double standards are glaringly obvious.

There is a documentary on Netflix titled ‘How to Become a Tyrant’. It appears Amit Shah might be watching it seriously every day. Instead of that, you should read about the peaceful protests and the freedom movement led by Mahatma Gandhi, who hailed from the very same Gujarat you come from. I wonder why I even have such expectations of them! Anyway...

Just because you are in power today, don’t be under the illusion that you will remain so forever. You were not born with a guarantee of eternal power. Recall examples from around the world of how the very people turn against a ruler with a dictatorial mindset once they lose power. Forget the rest of the world; even a look at India's history reveals how this nation humbled everyone from the Mughals and the Portuguese to the British, who once arrogantly claimed that the sun never sets on their empire. Do you, the current rulers, really think the people here won't bring you down to earth too? As a government, you are expected to show maturity; if you lack it, then learn it and internalize it.

Everyone has the right to protest, and that right must undoubtedly remain inviolate!

"No nation can be grateful at the cost of its liberty" हे उद्गार आहेत, भारतरत्न डॉ. बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर यांचे. नोव्हेंबर १९४९ ला भारतीय राज्यघटनेचा मसुदा सादर करताना त्यांनी हे अतिशय महत्वाचे उद्गार काढले होते.
एखाद्या नेत्याच्या आंधळ्या भक्तीसाठी किंवा त्याच्या तऱ्हेवाईक वागण्याला खतपाणी घालण्यासाठी या देशाची स्वातंत्र्य, अभिव्यक्ती ही मूल्य अजिबात पणाला लागता कामा नयेत.

हे वाक्य आज पुन्हा म्हणावं लागतंय. कारण मोदी आणि शाह या जोडीच्या मनात आणि डोक्यात अत्यंत पराकोटीची हुकूमशाही बसली आहे . या हुकूमशाहीच्या जोरावर या जोडीने देशातील सगळ्या यंत्रणांना काबीज करून जी सत्ता मिळवली. आणि जी सत्ता फक्त मूठभर उद्योगपतींच्या हितासाठी राबवली जात आहे. सत्तेच्या या मस्तीला विरोध केला, त्याच्या विरोधात निदर्शनं केली म्हणून, जर आंदोलकांना चिरडलं जाणार असेल आणि त्यांना अटक केली जाणार असेल तर, त्यांच्या या बेबंदशाहीला या देशातून खालपासून वरपर्यंत उखडूनच काढलं पाहिजे !

या देशांत आंदोलनं करायचीच नाहीत? तुम्हाला प्रश्न विचारायचेच नाहीत ? आंदोलन करणं हा अधिकार हिरावून घेणारे तुम्ही कोण ? भ्रष्ट मुख्य निवडणूक आयुक्त ज्ञानेश कुमार यांच्या राजीनाम्याची मागणी घेऊन ३ ऑक्टोबरपासून दिल्लीत आंदोलनं सुरु आहेत. दिल्ली पोलिसांना हाताशी धरून हे सरकार फक्त आंदोलकांना चिरडत होतं असं नाही तर हे आंदोलन कव्हर करणाऱ्या महिला पत्रकारांचा पण छळ करत होतं.

आज दिल्लीत आंदोलनं होतील या भीतीने दिल्लीत मेट्रो सेवा बंद केलीत, रस्ते अडवलेत, इंटरनेट सेवा बंद केली आहे, बस सेवा थांबवली आहे, आंदोलकांना विमानातून उचलून नेलं जात आहे. ही कोणती पद्धत ? देशातील २०,३० वर्षांचे तरुण तरुणी अस्वस्थ आहेत, त्यांना त्यांचं भविष्य दिसत नाहीये, म्हणून ती शांततेत रस्त्यावर उतरून आंदोलन करत आहेत आणि तुम्ही त्यांनाच चिरडायचा प्रयत्न करताय? जगभर मोदी जाऊन आमच्या देशात लोकशाही आहे हे आता कोणत्या तोंडाने सांगणार आहेत ? ही असली लोकशाही?

मला समजत नाही या ज्ञानेश कुमारबद्दल इतकं प्रेम का ? ज्ञानेश कुमार आणि त्या आधीचे निवडणूक अधिकारी हे तुमचे सत्ता काबीज करण्याचे मार्ग आहेत म्हणून ? निवडणूक आयोग एक स्वायत्त संस्था आहे, त्याच्या प्रमुखाने काही गोंधळ घातला असेल तर त्याचा राजीनामा व्हायलाच हवा. तसंच संपूर्ण निवडणूक यंत्रणा ही प्रामाणिक आणि पारदर्शक असायला हवी या मागणीत गैर ते काय ? माझ्या मताचा अधिकार काढून घेतला जातोय, किंवा माझं मत कुठे आणि कोणाला जातंय हे मला समजत नाहीये. आणि त्यातून माझ्या मताचा अपमान होतोय हा राग व्यक्त करण्याचा अधिकार पण नसावा ? का वरच्या दोघांना भीती आहे की ज्ञानेश कुमारला राजीनामा द्यायला लागला आणि त्याने माझे मतचोरीचे करवते धनी कोण हे जर सांगितलं तर आत्तापर्यंतचं सत्तेचं सगळंच बिंग फुटेल म्हणून!

भारतीय राज्यघटनेच्या कलम १९ (१) (अ) आणि (ब) यानुसार नागरिकांना शांततेत निदर्शनं करण्याचा पूर्ण अधिकार आहे. हा अधिकार तुम्हाला का चिरडायचा आहे ? काल तर चक्क माननीय सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाने देखील विचारलं, माशी मारायला हातोडा कशाला वापरताय ?. बरं आंदोलकांना ताब्यात घेतलं आणि सोडून दिलं असं सहसा महाराष्ट्रात पोलीस डिपार्टमेंट करतं. आणि हे करताना नागरिकांच्या संविधानिक अधिकारांना धक्का बसणार नाही हे पाहतात. पण इथे दिल्लीत तर महिला पत्रकार ज्या हे आंदोलन कव्हर करत होत्या, त्यांच्या तक्रारी आहेत की पोलिसांनी स्थानबद्ध केल्यावर त्यांचा छळ केला म्हणून. जर आंदोलन कव्हर करणाऱ्यांचा छळ होत असेल तर आंदोलकांना नीट वागवतील याची काय खात्री ?

या देशातील तरुणांनी तुम्हाला झुकवलं आणि धर्मेंद्र प्रधान यांचा राजीनामा घ्यायला लावला हा राग अजून शमला नाहीये असं दिसतंय. अण्णा हजारे आंदोलनाच्या वेळेस मोदी-शाह गुजरातमध्ये आंदोलनं होऊ देत होते कारण ती फायद्याची होती. पण त्याच गुजरातमध्ये त्यांनी सत्तेच्या काळात त्यांच्या सरकारच्या विरोधातील अनेक आंदोलनं चिरडली. थोडक्यात हे बेगडी आणि दुटप्पी आहेत हे स्पष्ट दिसतंय.

नेटफ्लिक्सवर एक डॉक्युमेंट्री आहे, How to Become a Tyrant (tyarant म्हणजे जुलमी शासक ) ही डॉक्युमेंट्री बहुदा अमित शाह रोज गांभीर्याने बघत आहेत असं दिसतंय. त्यापेक्षा ज्या गुजरातमधून तुम्ही येता त्याच राज्यातून आलेल्या महात्मा गांधींनी शांततेतली केलेल्या आंदोलनांबद्दल आणि स्वातंत्र्य चळवळीबद्दल जरा वाचा. अर्थात यांच्याकडून मी अपेक्षा का बाळगतोय हेच समजत नाही ! असो . . .

आज आपण सत्तेत आहोत म्हणजे अनंत काळापर्यंत असू ही अपेक्षा बाळगू नका. तुम्ही काही सत्तेचा अमरपट्टा घेऊन जन्माला आलेले नाही आहात. जेव्हा सत्तेतून एखादा हुकूमशाही मानसिकतेचा सत्ताधारी जातो त्यानंतर त्याची जनताच कशी पळताभुई करतात याची जगभरातील उदाहरणं आठवा. जगभरातील सोडा भारताचा इतिहास वाचलात तरी कळेल जिथे मुघलांपासून, पोर्तुगीजांपासून ते आमच्या साम्रज्यावरचा सूर्य मावळत नाही असा माज करणाऱ्या ब्रिटिशांचा जिथे या देशाने माज उतरवला, तिथे स्वकीयांचा माज इथली जनता उतरवणार नाही, असं वाटतंय का तुम्हा सत्ताधाऱ्यांना ? सरकार म्हणून तुमच्याकडून मॅच्युरिटीची अपेक्षा आहे, ती नसेलच तर शिकून घ्या, आत्मसात करा.

आंदोलन करणाऱ्या प्रत्येकाला आंदोलन करण्याचा अधिकार आहे, आणि तो अबाधितच राहिला पाहिजे हे निश्चित !

५ ऑक्टोबर २०२६ ला मी जेंव्हा पुण्यात एमपीएससी आंदोलक विद्यार्थ्यांची भेट घेतली तेंव्हा मी तुमचं म्हणणं, तुमच्या रास्त अपेक्षा याबद्दल मुख्यमंत्र्यांशी बोलेन असं आश्वस्त केलं होतं.

स्वतःचा राहता जिल्हा, तालुका, आपलं घर तसेच आपल्या कुटुंबाला सोडून नोकरीसाठी राब राब राबणाऱ्या तरुणांना आणि तरुणींना पाहिलं की जिवाची कालवाकालव होते.

म्हणून आज या विषयावर माझी मुख्यमंत्र्यांशी सविस्तर चर्चा झाली. ते देखील पूर्णपणे सकारात्मक आहेत हे जाणवलं. आणि येत्या काही दिवसांत MPSC च्या विद्यार्थ्यांच्या नोकऱ्यां संदर्भात एक चांगली बातमी येईल अशी अपेक्षा आहे . तेंव्हा विद्यार्थ्यांनी देखील संयम ठेवावा.

Veteran actor Nana Patekar has passed away.

The Hindi film industry and Mumbai share an inseparable bond. When one speaks of Mumbai, it encompasses its theatre, its world of commercial cinema, and the middle and lower-middle classes striving daily to carve out their identity, hen came the working class that gradually faced ruin in this city and across the country; the rise of the underworld born out of that social despair; the period where communal harmony unraveled before our eyes; followed by the post-liberalization expansion of middle-class aspirations and the politics swirling around it all. Through every such era, Nana Patekar made his presence felt, sometimes on stage, sometimes on screen. From ‘Hamidabai Chi Kothi’ to ‘Parinda’, ‘Krantiveer’, ‘Ab Tak Chhappan’, and all the way to ‘Natasamrat’, Nana remained ever-present. Across each phase, he brought to life, whether on the screen or the stage, the common man living with persistent inner turmoil.

Anger, humiliation, powerlessness, despair, revulsion toward immorality, disillusionment with the system, and class struggle constantly simmer within the mind of the common man. It spills over only occasionally through petty arguments or domestic turmoil. Otherwise, it stays bottled up inside. Watching Nana perform felt like looking into this emotional pressure cooker of ordinary lives. When Nana, or the 'Angry Young Man' Amitabh Bachchan, confronted these realities on screen, they vented the steam trapped within the human psyche. As I often say, just as singers and composers like Lata didi, Asha tai, Kishore Kumar, and Rafi sahab, along with filmmakers, playwrights, directors, and artists, entertained Indian minds for at least 60 to 70 years, figures like Nana and Bachchan Sahab powerfully released that inner steam on screen. Had they not done so, chaos might have erupted in this country every month.

Watching Nana act always reminded me of Hollywood's Morgan Freeman. Neither fit the conventional type of Bollywood or Hollywood actors of their times in terms of looks or persona. Watching Morgan Freeman, one often feels this is a man who has absorbed wisdom, patience, and a quiet acceptance of things as they are over time. With Nana's acting, however, I sensed fury, restlessness, and a deeply entrenched despair. Freeman represents a man who seems to have seen it all; Nana represents a man who has endured too much and can take no more. These are two opposite ends of the human spectrum. Because Nana could bring that second extreme to the screen with raw authenticity, he was a truly great artist.

In the 2000s, polished, fair, and conventional leading men began making way for story-driven cinema, ushering in an era of character actors who could carry a narrative and draw audiences on merit. Nana was undoubtedly the pioneer of this era. The prominence that character actors enjoy today was paved by Nana.

Yet, despite all this, he was fiercely individualistic, spoke his mind without filter, and was outspoken (though it hardly suits me to call anyone outspoken; be that as it may). Because of this, even when producers and directors wished to cast him, they often hesitated. Did this hurt Nana? One cannot say; he remained indifferent. But it certainly deprived Hindi cinema and its audience. While Nawazuddin Siddiqui and the late Irrfan Khan were undoubtedly brilliant performers, one wonders whether they and others like them would have found those same opportunities had Nana been willing to compromise. Moreover, Nana was not confined to aggressive or intense roles, through films like ‘Welcome’, he demonstrated to the world that he could handle comedy with equal prowess.

Nana is gone, but the man he portrayed on screen remains all around us. His anger remains, as does his restlessness, his humiliation, his struggle, and that intermittent surge of strength to confront his circumstances. Perhaps that is why, in bidding farewell to Nana, we are not merely parting with a great actor. We are parting with a face embodying the countless pent-up emotions of ordinary people.

ज्येष्ठ अभिनेते नाना पाटेकर यांचं निधन झालं. हिंदी चित्रपट सृष्टी म्हणजे मुंबई हे दृढ समीकरण. मुंबई आली की इथली रंगभूमी, इथलं व्यावसायिक सिनेमाचं जग, इथल्या झोपडीपासून, चाळीपासून कुठेतरी रोज या शहरात स्वतःचं अस्तित्व शोधण्याचा प्रयत्न करणारा इथला मध्यमवर्ग, निम्न मध्यमवर्ग आला, ूहळू या देशातील उध्वस्त होत गेलेला कामगार वर्ग आला, त्यातून आलेल्या सामाजिक नैराश्यातून उदयाला आलेलं अंडरर्वल्डचं विश्व असेल, सामाजिक सलोखा बघता बघता विस्कटून जाण्याचा काळ असेल, पुढे याच मध्यमवर्गाच्या आकांक्षा उदारीकरणानंतर विस्तारत जाणं आणि या सगळ्याच्या भोवती फिरणारं राजकारण. या प्रत्येक टप्प्यात नाना पाटेकर कधी नाटकातून कधी सिनेमातून दिसले. हमीदाबाईची कोठीपासून ते परिंदा ते क्रांतिवीर ते अब तक छप्पन ते अगदी नटसम्राटपर्यंत प्रत्येक ठिकाणी नाना पाटेकर दिसत राहिले . या प्रत्येक टप्प्यावरची कुठेतरी अस्वस्थता उराशी घेऊन जगणारा सामान्य माणूस नाना पाटेकर कधी पडद्यावर तर कधी रंगभूमीवर उभा करत राहिले .

सामान्य माणसाच्या मनात सातत्याने राग, अपमान, शक्तिहीनता, नैराश्य, अनैतिक गोष्टींबद्दलची घृणा, व्यवस्थेबद्दलची निराशा, वर्ग संघर्ष हे सगळं आत धुमसत असतं. ते अगदी कधीतरी किरकोळ भांडणं किंवा घरातील आदळआपट यातून बाहेर पडतं, अन्यथा ते आत धुमसत राहतं. हे धुमसत राहणं, प्रेशर कुकर सारखं आत रटरटत राहणं हेच त्याच्या वाट्याला येतं. नानांच्या अभिनयाकडे बघताना हा सामान्यांच्या आयुष्यातला भावनांचा प्रेशर कुकर बघतोय असं वाटायचं. आणि मग कधीकधी नाना असतील किंवा अँग्री यंग मॅन अमिताभ बच्चन असतील यांनी पडद्यावर केलेले दोन हात ही माणसाच्या मनाच्या प्रेशर कुकरमधील वाफ बाहेर काढतात. मी जसं नेहमी म्हणतो की लतादीदी, आशाताई, किशोर कुमार, रफी साहेब, इत्यादी गायकांनी ,संगीतकारांनी, चित्रपट तसेच नाटक निर्माते,दिग्दर्शक, कलाकारांनी भारतीयांचं किमान ६०/७० वर्ष मन रिझवलं तसंच नाना असतील किंवा बच्चन साहेब असतील यांनी आतली वाफ पडद्यावर ताकदीने बाहेर काढली म्हणून ठीक नाही तर या देशांत दर महिन्याला अराजकता निर्माण झाली असती.

नानांच्या अभिनयाकडे बघताना मला नेहमीच हॉलिवूडमधल्या मॉर्गन फ्रीमन यांची आठवण येते. रूप असेल व्यक्तिमत्व असेल दोघेही तत्कालीन बॉलिवूड किंवा हॉलिवूडच्या कलाकाराच्या पठडीत बसणारे अभिनेते नाहीत. मॉर्गन फ्रीमन यांच्याकडे पाहिल्यानंतर अनेकदा असं वाटतं की या माणसाने काळाच्या ओघात शहाणपण, पेशन्स, आणि आहे हे हे असं आहे हे स्वीकारलेपण आत्मसात केलं आहे. तर नानांच्या अभियाकडे पाहून मला राग, चंचलता, आणि खूप खोल साठलेलं नैराश्य जाणवायचं. या माणसाने खूप बघितलंय असं वाटणारा मॉर्गन फ्रीमन आणि या माणसाने खूप भोगलंय आता बस असं वाटणारे नाना. माणसाची दोन टोकाची रूपं असतात. यातलं दुसरं टोक नाना मनस्वीपणे पडद्यावर आणू शकायचे म्हणून ते मोठे कलाकार होते.

२००० च्या दशकांत गोरे गोमटे आखीव रेखीव गुळगुळीत दिसणाऱ्या नटांच्या ऐवजी कथा ही सिनेमाच्या पटावर आली आणि ती कथा सांगणारे नट आणि प्रेक्षकाला ओढून आणणारे नट यांच्या चलतीचा काळ सुरु झाला. आणि या युगाचे पहिले नायक १००% नाना होते. आज चरित्र अभिनेत्यांची जी चलती दिसत आहे, त्याला वाट नानांनी करून दिली.

पण इतकं सगळं असून देखील त्यांचा स्वभाव मनस्वी होता, मनात येईल ते बोलायचे, फटकळ होता (खरंतर मी कोणाला फटकळ म्हणणं चुकीचंच आहे. असो) यामुळे नानांना चित्रपटात घ्यायची इच्छा असली तरी निर्माते दिग्दर्शक टाळायचे, याने नानांचं नुकसान झालं का ? माहित नाही, ते बेफिकीर होते. पण १००% हिंदी चित्रपटसृष्टीचं आणि प्रेक्षकांच नुकसान झालं. नवाझउद्दीन सिद्दीकी किंवा इरफान खान( जे आज आपल्यात नाहीत) हे तसे उत्तम कलाकार, परंतु नानांनी काही गोष्टी ॲडजस्ट केल्या असत्या तर कदाचित या आणि अशा काही कलाकारांना ज्या संधी मिळाल्या त्या मिळाल्या असत्या का, याबद्दल मनात शंका निर्माण होते. नानांनी नुसताच आक्रमक किंवा गंभीर अभिनय केला नाही तर वेलकम चित्रपटातून त्यांनी विनोदी भूमिका देखील तितक्याच ताकदीने उभ्या करू शकतो हे जगाला दाखवले !

नाना गेले, पण नानांनी पडद्यावर उभा केलेला तो माणूस अजूनही आपल्या आजूबाजूला आहे. त्याचा राग आहे, त्याची अस्वस्थता आहे, त्याचा अपमान आहे, त्याची धडपड आहे आणि परिस्थितीशी दोन हात करण्याची त्याची अधूनमधून उसळणारी ताकदही आहे. कदाचित म्हणूनच नानांना निरोप देताना केवळ एका मोठ्या अभिनेत्याला आपण निरोप देत नाही आहोत तर समाजातल्या सामान्य माणसाच्या मनात साठत गेलेल्या असंख्य भावनांचा एक चेहरा आज आपल्यातून निघून गेला आहे.

आज पुण्यातील एम.पी.एस.सी. आंदोलक विद्यार्थ्यांची भेट घेऊन त्यांच्याशी संवाद साधला.

आज, ४ ऑक्टोबर २०२६ रोजी मुंबईत महाराष्ट्रातील सर्वपक्षीय नेते, कार्यकर्ते आणि जनतेच्या सहभागातून लोकशाही व संविधानाच्या रक्षणासाठी अभूतपूर्व असा विशाल ‘गर्जना’ मोर्चा निघाला. यावेळी मोर्चासाठी मोठ्या संख्येने जमलेल्या लोकशाही आणि संविधानप्रेमी नागरिकांना संबोधित केलं.

•⁠ ाकरे तुम्हाला सांगत आलाय, यामध्ये चोऱ्या सुरू आहेत. त्यावेळी मी ममता बॅनर्जी, सोनिया गांधींसह अनेक नेत्यांना भेटून सांगितलं होतं निवडणुकांवर बहिष्कार टाका त्याशिवाय दूध का दूध, पानी का पानी होणार नाही!

•⁠ ⁠मी तेव्हा काय सांगत होतो ते सगळ्यांना आत्ता समजायला लागलं.

•⁠ ⁠२०२४ विधानसभा निवडणुकीत संपुर्ण बहुमत महायुतीला मिळाल्यानंतर संपूर्ण महाराष्ट्रात सन्नाटा होता हा कोणता विजय?

•⁠ ⁠२०२४ लोकसभेनंतर २०२४ विधानसभेपूर्वी महाराष्ट्रात ४० ते ६० लाख मतदार वाढवले गेले. असे कसे मतदार वाढले?

•⁠ ⁠लोकसभेच्या निवडणुकीत भाजपला २ कोटी ४४ लाख २७ हजार मतं मिळाली. त्यानंतर ६ महिन्यांनी झालेल्या विधानसभा निवडणुकीत भाजपला ३ कोटी १६ लाख १६ हजार मतं मिळाली.

•⁠ ⁠मला सत्ताधारी पक्षाला फक्त एवढंच सांगायचंय, तुम्ही सत्तेवर बसलात म्हणून आम्हाला राग नाही. तुम्ही सत्ता कशी राबवताय याबाबत आम्हाला राग आहे.

•⁠ ⁠कोणाला सत्तेत बसवायचं आणि कोणाला विरोधात बसवायचं हे या देशातील लोकांनी ठरवायचं, निवडणूक आयोगाने नाही.

•⁠ ⁠कोणताही राजकीय पक्ष जेव्हा सत्तेत बसतो तेव्हा त्याला सत्ता जाण्याची भिती असते. अशी कोणतीही भिती राज्य किंवा केंद्र सरकारमध्ये दिसत नाही.

•⁠ ⁠आपण चुकीचा घेतलेला निर्णय, चुकीचं राबवलेलं धोरण हे भविष्यात चुकीचा पायंडा पाडणार का?, याचा विचार देशातील प्रत्येक राजकीय पक्षाने केला पाहिजे.

•⁠ ⁠आज सर्व विरोधी पक्ष व्यासपीठावर आहेत. सत्तेतले जे पक्ष आज व्यासपीठावर नाहीत त्यांनीही विचार करायला हवा, जेव्हा उद्या तुम्ही सत्तेतून जाल आणि तुम्ही आज जे करताय ते दामदुपटीने तुम्हाला भोगावं लागेल तेव्हा काय कराल?

•⁠ ⁠महाराष्ट्रात आजपर्यंत जी SIR प्रक्रिया झाली ती संपूर्णपणे रद्द झाली पाहिजे.

•⁠ ⁠आत्तापर्यंत SIR मधून २ कोटी लोकं बाहेर काढलेत हे २ कोटी लोकं कोण आहेत? जेव्हा दिल्लीत याबाबत चर्चा होईल त्यावेळी SIR रद्द झाला पाहिजे ही मागणी करावी अशी माझी सर्व राजकीय पक्षांना विनंती आहे.

•⁠ ⁠यापुढील सर्व निवडणुकांमध्ये EVM मशीच्या ऐवजी बॅलेटपेपरवर मतदान झालं पाहिजे ही आजच्या या मोर्चामधून मी मागणी करत आहे.
