ASH 2026 abstracts are out. It’s great to see major centres creating opportunities for early-career haematologists and researchers to present their work. This is exactly the culture we should be fostering.
What I find harder to understand is why very senior, established professors still need to take up oral presentation slots for abstracts. Surely these opportunities should be used to showcase and support the next generation of researchers?

🚨Thrilled to share our latest commentary in @BloodJournal with @RaajitRampal! This is on the very pertinent topic of #myelofibrosis trial #endpoints. We discuss what ails our field, the history, and the possible future toward which we must work.

If you want to get ahead, just be easy to work with. Show up on time. Do what you said you'd do. Bring solutions, not problems. Never create drama. Be responsive. Be emotionally consistent. Be kind. People will always want to support someone who just makes their life easier.

Great framing from Tanya Wroblewski (FDA) at #iwMDS & #iwMPN: strength of evidence is what separates surrogate endpoints.
✅ Validated: known to predict clinical benefit (BP ↓ → stroke ↓)
🔶 Reasonably likely surrogate: expected to predict benefit, the basis for accelerated appremOnc #iwMDSMPN26

Congratulations to the authors and the Progression Research Network on this publication. We are proud to see this collaborative effort contribute to the growing body of research focused on MPN disease progression.
Why do some pts with MPNs stay stable for decades while others progress? @MPN_RF launched the MPN Progression Research Network in 2020 to address this pressing issue. We now present a blueprint for dealing with progression from these efforts. (nature.com/articles/s4137…).A thread🧵

Our call to action:
✅ Integrate clinical, molecular and inflammatory markers
✅ Run prospective trials with long follow-up
✅ Standardize assays and endpoints
✅ Engage regulators early
✅ Bring patients into trial design
