Was he lying or following orders?
Yesterday, Trump said he had not spoken to Musk. Who's in control? Who's lying?

@RALee85 At over 161 km/h, restored Starlink shows war now runs on one private network. Taxpayers and shoppers pay the price when that monopoly falters.

@RALee85 The broader issue extends beyond Musk: a satellite network essential to allied military operations can be altered through decisions involving Washington and a single private contractor, with limited public transparency.
REUTERS INVESTIGATION - For years, successive U.S. administrations have asked Elon Musk's SpaceX to activate or disable Starlink services across conflict zones, effectively making a privately owned satellite network an instrument of American foreign policy.
Six former senior ters that the Biden administration coordinated with SpaceX to disable terminals linked to Hezbollah and the Houthis, expand connectivity for Ukraine's military and provide internet access inside Iran.
The Trump administration also discussed activating Starlink in Iran following U.S.-Israeli strikes in 2025 and 2026.
The revelations add a new dimension to the current Starshield crisis in Ukraine.
Reuters previously reported that the order to restrict Ukraine's military-grade satellite service originated inside the White House. Musk, meanwhile, has publicly stated that Starshield is controlled by the U.S. government and that restrictions ultimately fall under presidential authority.
Yet Washington has still not publicly identified who authorized the October restrictions or explained why they were imposed.
On Friday, Trump said he had not spoken to Musk about Ukraine's connectivity problems, contradicting an earlier Wall Street Journal report that described a presidential call requesting the restrictions be lifted.
Zelensky says the speed limits remain in place, disrupting Ukrainian military operations while Russia continues its attacks.

For European governments, the controversy has renewed concerns about dependence on American-controlled military communications infrastructure.
