email sign offs:
best,
cheers,
thanks in advance,
regards (derogatory),
this could’ve been a text,
I have cc’d your mother,
this message will self-destruct and so will I,
until the cold hands of death take us,
respectfully, no,
reply if you dare,

That photo you're about to email can carry where it was taken, which device took it and when.
Proton Mail strips that EXIF data from photo attachments automatically before they're sent.

Looking to send confidential information to a journalist? Write the email in Proton Mail, add a password, and set when it expires.
They don’t need a Proton account. They get a link. Send them the password elsewhere.
We saw it in a movie... 😂

A spam email you never signed up for has an "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom.
What's the best move?
A) Click unsubscribe
B) Reply and ask to be taken off the mailing list
C) Mark it as spam and delete it
D) Leave it unread so they think the address is dead
A, B, C, or D?

You can't make your mom switch to Proton, you can subscribe to her Google Calendar though.
Paste her .ics link into Proton Calendar once and her events show up next to yours, updates included.

Need to send something sensitive to someone who doesn't use Proton Mail?
Set a password on the email, then share the password with them separately (a text or a call works). The message stays end-to-end encrypted too.

for those of you asking why:
1. If your G**gle account is compromised so are the accounts you used google to sign in to.
2. G**gle sees and keeps records of every app you sign into, which is just more data being fed to the company who primarily makes money from (your) user data
for those of you asking what you should do instead:
make an account with an email alias so if that email address gets compromised/leaked/sold you can just deactivate it and it doesnt link back to your main email address (proton.me/pass/aliases)
for those of you asking how to check where you're signed in with G**gle and how to stop it:
Go to myaccount.google.com/connections (or Security → Your connections to third-party apps & services → See all connections). Filter for “Sign in with Google.” Select any site, then choose Stop using Sign in with Google to revoke access.
