The ACGME is accepting comments on proposed revisions to the Common Program
Requirements for residency.
Comment deadline: October 22, 2026.
These requirements provide a esidency education. The proposed
revisions are still under review, and the comment process allows the community to offer
feedback before requirements are finalized.
How can you participate?
1 Read the proposed requirements.
2 Review the accompanying rationale and impact statement.
3 Identify specific sections you want to address.
4 Explain your perspective clearly and provide relevant examples.
5 Submit your feedback electronically through the designated ACGME form.

“I’m an Internal Medicine applicant from Sohag, Egypt 🇪🇬. I finished all three USMLE Steps on my own when I came to the US and completed five rotations across West Virginia, New York, and Florida, d Lakeland Regional Health. Along the way, I got into research and teaching, and I’ve helped hundreds of students get through their USMLE exams. I’ve also been an IMG Ambassador with Project IMG for three years, supporting fellow IMGs as they work toward their own match. 💙 Every step taught me something, and I’m ready for the next one.”
Beyond medicine, Bishoy has explored eight US states and is always planning his next trip. ✈️ He loves nature and long walks 🌿, and you’ll often find him at the gym most days. He’s also a proud cat dad 🐱, and his cat is his toughest critic! He loves being around people and working as part of a team—and he’s the friend who always has the perfect meme ready 😂.
