I agree with Dario that we need to pace the frontier. This has been a primary topic of discussions we've had at OpenAI in recent weeks.

Committing to having independent evaluators with employee-like access is a great idea, and we will do the same. We'll have more to share soon.
We Must Pace the Frontier: I’ve written a new essay on why the AI industry should slow down, with a three-part plan for doing so.

Anthropic is unilaterally committing to the first of these steps. We’ll provide third-party evaluators with permanent, employee-level access to our systems, so that they can verify adherence to our safety measures, report on incidents, and assess models’ alignment during training.

With AI advancing so rapidly in the digital world, the next frontier is physical AI.

Come build that future with the incredible robotics team at OpenAI
OpenAI Robotics is hiring, looking for exceptional full-stack hardware, ops, systems, and ML engineers to help us program and manufacture robots that are useful for society.

AI should be able to help people in the physical world. In the short term, we are focused on robots to support skilled workers to build our future infrastructure; in the long term, we imagine everyone having a personal robot doing anything they need.

Our world simulation research program, led by Aditya Ramesh (@model_mechanic), has evolved over the past year into OpenAI Robotics. Progress is rapid, and based on a foundation of co-design between robotics hardware and ML research.

If you love working hands-on across the robotics stack and want to build the future, please consider joining us. Send an email with your background and evidence of exceptional accomplishment to: robotics-recruiting@openai.com

Another banger from @SarvamAI , this time: real time speech! We are now world best on all things Indian - accents, languages, tones - speak any Indian language in the same conversation, we will switch our tokenizer/mode, and automatically transcribe. Don't miss the demo video!
Drop 8/14: Introducing Saaras V3, the next iteration of our speech recognition model. We extend our lead in this space with an even more accurate model, particularly for mixed-language and noisy speech.
We have also expanded support for all the 22 scheduled languages of India.
And we now support real-time streaming! In this mode, the model delivers low latency while preserving transcription quality.

Our sovereign model strategy is delivering results.

Even the most critical reviewers are praising the technologically advanced model released by Sarvam as a part of our AI mission.

In parallel, our smart young engineers are working on innovations in materials science, healthcare and cybersecurity that will be noticed by the world as pathbreaking models.
I was wrong about Sarvam.

When I wrote about them a year ago, I felt like the direction to train small "indic" language models was wrong. But boy, have they turned it around. They have the best text-to-speech, speech-to text, and OCR models for Indic languages, and that's e. The pricing is very reasonable. And the website is not only beautifully designed but dirt easy to use. They're filling a well needed gap in the ecosystem and doing things big labs will probably never focus on to the fullest extent (at least in the short term). I don't know anything about the business, but there's a lot to appreciate about what they've build technologically and I can't remember the last time I felt that way about software products coming out of India. Well done.

390x cost reduction in a year!
A year ago, we verified a preview of an unreleased version of @OpenAI o3 (High) that scored 88% on ARC-AGI-1 at est. $4.5k/task

Today, we’ve verified a new GPT-5.2 Pro (X-High) SOTA score of 90.5% at $11.64/task

This represents a ~390X efficiency improvement in one year
