I collated NINE important metrics to help compare which league has the most balance across the entire table. This looks at competitiveness WITHIN the league.

- 2025/2026 season

Does the Premier League have more tight games? Does La Liga produce more high-scoring one-sided games? Does the Serie A have so many more champions over the years? Are the Bundesliga and Ligue 1 āfarmers leagueā?

The Ballon dāOr is never ārobbed.ā Itās an award based on voting. Opinions from Journalists who can also be swayed by factors that sway those of the normal fan. The flaw is in the fact that it is opinionated, but ironically, thatās the best way the award can be decided. Itās the rency and representation from the countries.
But I was wrong when I said ānever robbed.ā It has been robbed once. In 2013, that was the only time the Ballon dāOr tampered with its due process. Aside that, the constant flawed rating is because itās the opinions of imperfect journalists.

The stereotype on Arsenal football club is dangerous to this sport and also unfair. Yes they donāt play the āprettiestā football in the world, but this is a team built on resilience and a winning mentality with a fantastic coach. Dominant in the Premier League, still had the each the Champions League final where their fighting spirit took the best team in the world to penalties.
I cannot understand how none of their players got any decent recognition. I know the world doesnāt rate defensive players highly, and Arsenal are built on tactical solidity rooted in defensive compactness and focus. But even their main players are ranked TOO LOW. Declan Rice, easily one of the best midfielders in the world, is placed 15th!!!! Saliba, the best defender in the world, is ranked below Quinones!!
This isnāt just a Ballon dāOr thing, itās also a perception thing. Because like I have always said, it was absolutely unfair that Bruno Fernandes won the PL POTY over the Arsenal players. Arsenal had 3+ players more deserving because as much as we call them āindividual awardsā, they are awards in a TEAM sport. Sadly, this stereotype will continue with Arsenal, their goalkeeper will get the prop, but still lose the award in a World Cup year, their CBs will get the prop but still finish behind Ferran Torres. Itās sad really

Kylian Mbappe should have been nowhere near the Ballon dāOr podium. Finishing second is a shame to the sport that only wants to prioritise numbers without impact on your team. He is arguably the best player in the world, an all-timer, but didnāt do enough last season to make top 3.
