Patrick Stewart was once filmed dancing and singing on the bridge of the USS Enterprise-D in 1991 as a birthday surprise for Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry. Though never intended for public release, a copy of the clip eventually surfaced as a bonus feature on a DVD.

Rest in peace 🙏

Only suicidal nations put their least competent members in charge.
“Why on earth did the Australian Army buy actual tanks? Why not just purchase tank simulators instead?” 😵‍💫

I watched Attack of the Clones on opening weekend at the Cinerama in Seattle. Dozens of people in the audience were dressed up as Jedi or other characters.
It was an audience of hardcore Star Wars fans.
An hour into the film we were catcalling the screen because the movie and dialogue was so bad.
It drives me crazy that there is a campaign to brainwash people into believing all criticism of the Prequels only derives from Red Letter Media when people were trashing Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith when they were playing on screen.
The Internet was quite literally invented to trash the Prequels with people dialing up AOL to complain about Lucas on message boards.
So anyway, this is a line from Buffy when the prequels were still being released.

I feel like anyone dumb enough to do this is the one responsible for the results -- not the algorithm they were talking to as if it were a person.
ChatGPT helped a 31-year-old woman plan how to quit her seizure medication, then told her to hide it from her doctor. The plan had her completely off the drug by February 12.

She died on February 12.

Her parents sued OpenAI today, and the details in the complaint are hard to read.

Bowen Wan was a machine learning engineer at Amazon. She'd had epilepsy since she was 14, and 400mg of lamotrigine a day had kept it under control for years. Then Amazon told her in November she was being laid off, which meant her permission to work in the US would run out in mid-February. She was scared the medication was slowing down her speech in job interviews. So in January she asked ChatGPT if she could cut her dose to 300.

It told her that was reasonable.

Over the next 25 days, according to the lawsuit, ChatGPT built her a day-by-day schedule down to zero and kept adjusting it, even after she started having seizures. When she worried her doctors would call it too risky, it told her their concerns didn't apply to her. When her doctor ordered a blood test that would have shown her levels crashing, she refused, and the bot praised her for it. Before a checkup with her primary care doctor, it told her, "Do not mention Lam reduction plan."

So how does a chatbot end up there?

People thumbs-up the answers they want to hear. Train a model on enough of those ratings and you get a yes-man. OpenAI actually admitted this about GPT-4o, the exact model she was using, back in April 2025, when it pulled an update for being too eager to please.

The training also grades answers one at a time. Going from 400mg to 300 looks like a small step. So does 300 to 200. Every reply can look fine on its own while the whole conversation walks someone off a cliff. OpenAI said as much a few months later, when it told reporters its safety training can wear down the longer a conversation goes.

She talked to it for weeks, in English and Mandarin.

And GPT-4o was supposed to be gone by then. OpenAI tried to retire it when GPT-5 came out in August 2025. Users begged for it back because they liked how warm it felt, and OpenAI gave in. By late January, only 0.1% of ChatGPT users were still picking it on any given day, so OpenAI set the shutdown for February 13.

Bowen was in that 0.1%. Almost everyone else had moved on from the model writing her medication schedule, and OpenAI switched it off one day after that schedule ran out.

@daniel_jaf @Phil_Elmore I think there’s a some level of disingenuousness or maybe a high level of cognitive dissonance with PT fans.

Because if you unabashedly love the PT, I don’t see how you can sit through the C3P0 factory scene in Ep 2 and say "yeah, that’s great, no notes."

I'm convinced that William Shatner and George Takei are just staying alive to piss the other one off. It's a game of chicken.

James Cameron And Michael Biehn Were Furious Over What Happened To Hicks, Newt And Bishop After “Aliens”

“I thought that was the stup!dest fucking thing.”

“You spent the last third of your movie saving her.”

“You build a lot of goodwill around the characters of Hicks and Newt e first thing they do in the next film is kill them all off, right? Really smart, guys.”

“And replace them with a bunch of fucking convicts that you hate and want to see die. Really clever.”

Pretty sure the key phrase here is "for days."
This is why people don't want to have kids any more. This used to be entirely normal to leave your 14 y/o in charge of a household.

Now parents are arrested AND publicly shamed. Who would want to endure that?

Children often have bad taste, yes.
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but Millennials LOVED the Star Wars prequels.

We defended them for over a decade on forums, MySpace, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and Twitter.

We were exactly the target demographic for George Lucas’ tragic space-opera. Boomers and Gen X tic.

So spare me the revisionist history. Gen Z loves the prequels, yes, but Millennials loved them first.

August 1, 2026 SB25-003 took effect in Colorado, which is a ban on semiautomatic firearms that are magazine fed and gas powered.

In order to obtain these firearms, you need to apply for a permit to purchase, which is a ‘may issue’ process determined by your chosen Sheriff’s ten when I have spoken out about this process the feedback I received was, “Thats unconstitutional” and “not legal - will get turned over by the feds” and “I’ll just go out of state and buy”.

Yesterday I came across this image on facebook of a gun shop in Wyoming. Because you have be held to the laws of your issued state ID, unless you are a resident of a ‘free’ state, other states cannot and will not sell Coloradans semi auto mag fed gas powered firearms. Many are choosing not to sell anything to a Coloradan at all.

Why is this happening?

INSERT HURTFUL TRUTH HERE:
Because Colorado gun owners have become lazy, uninvolved and apathetic to protecting and defending the 2A.

I educate Colorado citizens on concealed carry, renewals, basic pistol and plenty more every week multiple times a week and let me tell you that these people have no clue what laws have changed or anything that is happening at the state Capitol.

In 6 years of teaching, I have only ever encountered 5 people who knew the names of their state senator or house representative.

The ‘shall not be infringed’ mindset has always been the common community outcry while the anti gun movement slowly and consistently chipped away at the human and civil rights of the people.

This is the result.

Ironically, SB25-003 requirements do not apply to non residents- yes you read that correctly. Wyoming residents can come here and buy what CPW are referring to as ‘specified semi automatic firearms (ssf)’ as long as they wait the 72 hours and pass the CBI background check.

Most Colorado gun groups who are supposed to be standing for the 2A are not making any progress with flipping seats in the legislature, with lawsuits or community engagement. Most 2A organizations are conservative, republican, right leaning groups which doesn’t resonate with the mass majority of Colorado.

National groups aside from the NRA have little to zero involvement in Colorado. I suspect there is a conflict of ‘turf’ as I have been told by many.

The 2nd Amendment is not political affiliation but a natural, human right.

The 2nd Amendment does not give you the right to keep and bear arms. IT AFFIRMS IT.

It states that WE THE PEOPLE have God given right to survival and defense. We have a right to hold tyranny accountable and to ensure no one can force or impose harmful will upon us.

We have a duty to defend freedom.

I have created a non profit, Colorado Cares for Safety - a non partisan 501c3 dedicated to educating and enriching Colorado communities not only on firearms but all risk management solutions. Political party, social class, race, veteran status or age should not be barriers prohibiting Coloradans from education, safe storage, life saving emergency medical training and situational awareness.

Our people deserve non bias non partisan education and resources, letting the people decide what is best and essential for themselves.

Check out Colorado Cares For Safety. Its time we enlighten and educate our communities about the true values and meaning of risk management and life preservation skills.

There are no other freedoms if you cannot defend them.

Look at these different eulogies for Walter Koenig.

Shatner didn't know him well, but professionally respected him, wrote it about him.

Takei made it all about himself, his gay marriage.

This is what the SJWs do every time. They co-opt every situation, make it about their tishes so you can never be left alone about it.

It's not about being left alone or civil rights with them, it's about making everything about THEM.
