📝Weekly Oni Memo #67
Today, we would like to talk about this design that can be found at Nijo-jo Castle. You'll notice five lines on the wall of Nijo Castle. There's a meaning behind these lines.
The five horizontal lines (also known as "jogisuji") seen on the earthen walls of sign traditionally used in the Imperial Palace and highly prestigious temples. It's said that the number of lines represents the level of prestige, with five lines indicating the absolute highest rank. In the real-world Nijo-jo Castle, you can spot these lines on the walls surrounding the Ninomaru Palace and around the Higashi Ote-mon Gate.
You can also find this exact design in the game! We hope you enjoy making little discoveries like finding what's similar and what's different between the in-game design and the design used in real life.
By the way, if you want to take a picture of just the scenery like in this image, try turning off the Player and NPCs under the Character Display tab in the Photo Mode. Searching for hidden scenic spots is all part of the fun!

For this week, I’d like to talk about the ending theme, ‘Ghost in the Silence’.
This song encapsulates the feelings of Shizuka Gozen, which were not fully explored in the main story. Her feelings toward someone with whom she once walked side by side, her lost, and her frustration at her own powerlessness. Even so, Shizuka accepts her own weakness and continues to seek the hope that lies beyond it. We crafted this as a second narrative, one that only becomes evident once the main story has reached its end. Our in-house composer Nozomi Ohmoto was responsible for the song's composition and production. From the song’s concept to deciding what vocal timbre would suit it best, she poured her heart into every detail as she brought it to life. The Japanese version is performed by Mizuki, whilst the English version is performed by Cait Foley (CAIT). I personally am very fond of this song and listened to it countless times whilst the game was in development. I hope that, after seeing the story through to the very end, you will once again feel Shizuka’s emotions as expressed through this song.

We recently held a campaign in Japan asking for the player's most epic sword action gameplay clips. We are currently going through the submissions!
We were absolutely blown away by the incredible clips players shared! From incredibly cool gameplay to ew discoveries, every single clip was amazing!
Although this campaign was exclusive to Japan, anyone can check out the awesome gameplay shared by the community by searching the hashtag #鬼武者剣戟アクション. Please enjoy!
Even if you've already beaten the game once, there is still so much more to experience. Whether you're trying out a new playstyle or challenging yourself in the highest difficulty mode, we hope you continue to have fun with the game!
P.S. The attached photo was taken when we visited Kiyomizu-dera Temple for a consultation, right around the time prototype development began. We're actually standing on the famous wooden stage, though it's a bit hard to tell! Everyone was also wearing masks—it was just that kind of era.
