sometimes ago, back in college, on a particular friday, a client abroad paid me for a job i did, he sent it to a local bank, i saw the payment came in and just moved on

got to school on monday morning, it was school fees deadline day, i wasn’t worried cause i had the money now

i opened my banking app to send the money and that was when i noticed that my account was frozen, apparently the bank had frozen my account over an incoming foreign payment and i never found out until when i needed it the most

what followed was a full day of me begging my own bank for access to my
own money

submitted IDs, proof of income, proof of where the money came from, explanation for why someone abroad will pay me and so on

although i beat the deadline but it got me thinking, is my money ever my money in a traditional bank?

bitcoin won’t reach the next million people through cryptography, nobody wakes up wanting maths, they’ll come the day they need permission to spend their own money

Bitcoin is the only money that can’t be frozen, debased or seized

i’m bullish because i’ve experienced what it could’ve been without it.
