@andrew_jhoward Generally the run game looked really good on the 1st two drives, but again the defense began winning the line of scrimmage past the 2nd drive. Kinney cleanly hit both of his extra points, which was encouraging. Hope you get off of the “no-fly” list soon!

@andrew_jhoward There was only him, a long snapper, someone covering the long snapper, and the punt returner (who fair caught the ball) on the field when this happened. There was another drive that stalled out near midfield, and that was the end of the spring game experience.

@andrew_jhoward They got to 4th down and I distinctly remember them trying to run the ball on like 4th and 3 and it getting stuffed. They then restarted the drive from the 30. At some point Skyler Williams came back in. They got to 4th down again, however this time they let McKenzie punt.

@andrew_jhoward The next drive Jamarcus Harrison came in and this is where the defense basically took over for one reason or another. There were a few sacks but I can’t remember who got them.

@andrew_jhoward That was the last time we saw Varnes. On his first passing play, Williams rolled to the right, saw nothing, and smartly threw it away. The next play he managed to scramble to the right corner of the in zone for a touchdown.

@andrew_jhoward There was a 15 yard penalty on the defense that first moved the ball into the red zone. There was also some sort of handoff to Davis Bryson that picked up a good amount of yards. When they got down inside the 10, Varnes was in for one play before they subbed in Williams.

@andrew_jhoward As I’ve mentioned the 2nd drive started off with Landon Varnes. The main difference between Varnes and Collins is that Varnes scrambled more and was able to get a few good gains off of scrambling; he also had some nice completions.

@andrew_jhoward Thanks for the shoutout. You can use my real name Charlie in the article. Also fwiw I remember seeing a Channel 2 segment about the spring game later that evening but I can’t find an article about it. They had footage from the 2nd touchdown. Here’s what I remember from the rest:

@andrew_jhoward Memory is fuzzy but I don’t recall any major subbing on that drive until they got within the 10 and put in Skyler Williams. It seemed to move pretty fast like the first drive

@andrew_jhoward Not much to go off of but based on what we saw Collins and Varnes seem to be the top choices at QB. Williams and Harrison didn’t do much (Williams did run in the touchdown after Varnes got down there on the 2nd drive) but the o-line also seemed to fall off after the 2nd drive

There is also a posting for the Wellstar Champions Complex (the office building renovation which includes new locker rooms, offices, etc). Design phase is the same, with the estimated start of construction being Summer 2027.
