Dr. Amit Vyas, MD @DairyAmul, shared his insights as a distinguished panelist at the @IndianDairyAsso – @DrinkTechnology Seminar on Probiotics and Protein-Rich Beverages, held in Mumbai on 28 October 2026. The panel brought together distinguished experts from the dairy, nd food ingredient industries, including Dr. Jitender Singh, Scientist, @NDDB_Coop; Dr. Jarita Malik, Professor, @KamdhenuUni; and Mr. Kaushal Vaishnav, Head Sales, Chr. Hansen, and moderated by Dr. J. B. Prajapati (@jbprajapati3), President, Fermented Foods Association.
The Panel Discussion was on 'Probiotics: Science, Nutrition and Economic Landscape'. In the engaging panel discussion, Dr. Vyas emphasised that there cannot be a single probiotic solution for everyone. Products offering specific functional benefits, scientifically supported health claims, and good taste are key to attracting health-conscious consumers and building customer loyalty. With the global probiotic drinks market projected to reach USD 134 billion by 2036, and potential gross operating margins of 30–45%, probiotic products offer significant opportunities for value addition, profitability, and exports.
Dr. Amit Vyas also shared his experience through an insightful podcast on ‘Technology & the Future of Dairy’. In the podcast, Dr. Vyas highlighted how smart automation, digital transformation, data-driven decision-making, and energy-efficient technologies can enhance operational excellence, product quality, and sustainability across the dairy value chain. He emphasised that technology must deliver measurable benefits while creating greater value for milk producers and consumers.
@DairyAmul remains committed to innovation, sustainable growth, and strengthening India's position in the global dairy industry.

NDDB is proud to be a partner in Banas Dairy's (@banasdairy1969) journey as Hon'ble Prime Minister @narendramodi ji inaugurated the Bharat Bovine Breeding and Research Centre (BBBRC) at Bhildi, Banaskantha.
NDDB provided technical support and consultancy for the design, planning and execution of this state of the art facility. The total project outlay is ₹324.77 crore, of which ₹43.11 crore has been funded under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission, a Central Sector Scheme of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (@Dept_AHD), Government of India.
Spread over 127 acres, BBBRC is Banas Dairy's Centre of Excellence for animal breeding with a simple promise: more milk from fewer but better animals. The Centre uses advanced reproductive technologies such as Ovum Pick Up (OPU), In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) and Embryo Transfer (ET). It aims to produce 25,000 embryos a year.
Best cows and buffaloes with known genetic merit will be used to produce embryos.
These embryos will be used at farmers doorstep or in the centre to produce best quality heifers at affordable prices.
Bulls produced from the embryos of outstanding donors will be used for frozen semen production for AI program for widespread genetic improvement.
NDDB has also established indigenously developed semen sex sorting technology at Banas Dairy's Dama semen station which guarantees production of female calves with 85% accuracy.
Grateful to Hon'ble PM ji for his unwavering commitment to India's dairy farmers and the cooperative movement.
