@djebel @Mattunchained @7horseracing In Victorian times females were considered inferior, Admiral Rous thought this also applied to horse racing.

Autumn Glow too well placed, too beneficial of a plain era, to be regarded as a champion. She may well rise to the challenge but the bar must be raised - meaning o/s - and then we can consider the ultimate accolade … in a year’s time.

Ok that’s enough of the soft kills for Autumn Glow. She cannot be wrapped in cotton wool next prep. Gotta go overseas - HK or Royal Ascot or whatever - because beating up on this generation of rivals is just not satisfying.

This is far worse than the 2% my racehorse lady.
How will she survive without her own private bathroom at the races.

Melbourne Cup Day is the one day of the year that brings our great sport in front of the entire nation.
For mine, there is no better puzzle, game or challenge in the World than horse racing.
They might be doing their best currently to turn it into a giant poker machine, but the bones of a magnificent game of skill are still there.
And I'm still hopeful that it's not too late for those at the helm to have the sudden realisation that it's not about quantity, it's about QUALITY.
That a better product benefits EVERYONE.
Better racing, better horses, better training facilities, better information, genuinely competitive betting markets and greater access to the tools that allow punters to properly engage with the sport.
The better the product, the more appealing it becomes. The more people want to participate, the better it is for ALL participants.
We have a magnificent sport. We just need to remember what makes it magnificent in the first place.
Rant over. Enjoy Cup Day! 🏆 🏇

It’s one of the biggest weeks on the Australian racing calendar, and naturally, the Saddle Up Crew have a lot to dissect on this week’s podcast.

If this doesn't inspire you to get off your ass and save our democracy, nothing will. In this moment in history, as Trump is systematically destroying the republic, this is the most consequential video y'all are going to see.

Curious if s’wards pondered the rails-bias factor after multiple movements that led to tight “mindset” in the CCup - which had falls. Rails bias = tight racing. Fields don’t fan. Not suggesting blame but perhaps shld be kept in mind re rail movements that inevitably lead to bias

@Mattunchained When is the barrier draw?
Can connections still select their preferred barrier like in past?
Terrible build up to cox plate not having a breakfast and morning barrier draw at the minimum

Didn’t anyone think it was important to do a traditional Breakfast With The Best - bbqs, televised gallops, full dining room, barrier draw, interviews - given the disruption to the Cox Plate?
Sort of essential? Is there minimal industry interest in showcasing this Cox Plate?
