With Indy wrapping up I wanted to go back and look at the fastest guys in history, so here are all the 4.28 and unders in combine history and where guys trained. Lots of good facilities on this list.

The right weight room work with correct SHREDmill / speed dosing is a recipe for results.
With speed comes explosion and vice versa. Train them both together. The partnership with @MattGates_XPE weight room program has made RESULTS easier and more consistent.

🙌🏻. Unfortunately training skills don’t matter anymore. Only thing that matters is constant posting on social media, selling the next online program and developing your “personal brand” with high follower count.
Call me "old school" of you want, but I will challenge all the "new school" trainers and coaches to work on developing their training skills more than their "social media presence" and "data analysis." In the end, can you get RESULTS for your clients? Been at it over 25 years.

100%. Biggest change to combine prep programming this year is what our Tuesdays and Saturdays (following Mon/Thurs speed work) will look like.
On days you don’t sprint, you should be bouncing.

Low fatigue cost, massive supplement to actually sprinting.

Intensive and extensive!

Greatest entrance in college football
Enter Sandman is a 25 year old Virginia Tech tradition and the reason Metallica added the school to their last tour.

Virginia Tech’s Geosciences department measured the equivalent of a magnitude 1 to 2 earthquake when the band played the song at that concert. x.com/accnetwork/sta…

It just kept going and going for 5 min. Absolutely incredible 🤦🏼‍♂️. Maybe I need to get into collegiate S&C. That’s the first video ever that made my jaw drop.

Yes. We got lucky with so much of the way we’ve taught speed over the years. Trusted what we saw and felt without any real “proof or research” as to why it works.
Increase contact time and length? Interesting. We have found the same for a long time with @SHREDmillSpeed and other devices. Been working it for years. So amazing to hear an amazing coach like Ken Clark explain it better.

Can’t wait
It is happening!!! Came out better than I could imagine. We can go crazy in the programming after input from our coaches. We will have a Gear 1 (FORCE), Gear 2 (Heavy Accel), Gear 3 (Light Accel), and Gear 4 (MaxV on G Unit)) to track along with 10 constant resistance loads.

Watching UFC with my sweet wife and she goes, “I don’t like how he keeps hitting him until he dies when he’s already on the ground.” 😂😂😂

Agreed. That is very very odd.
@MattGates_XPE Explain why the jumps cannot get anywhere near world records for last 30 years.

I need someone to explain to me like I’m a fifth grader why track times are so insane right now. This is not normal and has never happened before so please enlighten me.
1:42.08!!🤯🔥
WORLD LEAD!!!

17-year-old Cooper Lutkenhaus 🇺🇸 has just won the men's 800m at the Oslo Diamond League in a time of 1:42.08!

He held off Olympic & World Champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi 🇰🇪 who finished 2nd in 1:42.09.

You know why. Simplicity doesn’t get views and follows. ((See followers on Matt and Tony IG and twitter and XPE IG, simplicity ain’t sexy))
I do not know why people make things so complicated. I looked up the most receptions in NFL History. And 80% of them have the same thing in common. A coach that preached simplicity.

I always thought this was the case, but it’s exactly what we found this year when timing ground contact on first few steps of our combine guys. Everyone accelerates differently and even elite guys can arrive at the same end result by getting there in a completely different way.
A study on elite sprinters found that athletes didn’t rely on the same combination of step length and step frequency to achieve top speed.

Some were more step length reliant and others were more step frequency reliant.

I think that’s an important finding because

WORLD RECORD

Angelina Adler sets the 13-year-old age group world record, AND middle school national record in 4:38.25. She also holds the 12-year-old world record that she set TWO MONTHS AGO.

Some might say XPE is outdated and unimpressive. Looks can be deceiving and results don’t give damn what a place “looks” like.
𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚: The Seahawks' gym has gone viral for looking extremely outdated and unimpressive.

The facility in Seattle was built in 2007 and cost only $60 million.

Wow, that is a bound. One of the first things we teach on the ground and on the shredmill. Not sure we’ve never had someone end up looking like this though.
When bounding, focus on:

✅ Active foot strike: Don't just land, attack the ground.
✅ Knee drive: Punch that lead knee up and forward.
✅ Powerful arms: Your arms drive your legs—use them!

Yep. We’ve done it successfully with some LARRRRRGE groups!
"Accleration Profiling" does not need to be complicated. And can be used INSIDE a weight room WITH large groups.
