I mean it's just a relatively socially-conservative, clean, orderly/low-crime, wealthy country that has produced very internationally influential popular culture and Japanese women are often considered attractive to many outsiders.

The reason that there are no mainstream female characters with a body type similar to wario is that women just don't want to identify with that. Women want to be cute and pretty and identify with characters who are cute and pretty. That's why Disney women have the same face.
