Correct.
Using Starlink, a civilian commercial service, for offensive drone strikes to kill people has never been allowed, nor should it be.
Starshield, a different system, is controlled by the US government. What they decide to do is up to them.
Ukraine military violated Starlink terms of service and used it for offensive drone strikes to kill people. That loophole was closed last week.
Starlink remains critical to the defense of Ukraine, as it is the only system that cannot be jammed or blown up, at least for now. Were Starlink to be turned off, the Ukrainian front line would collapse immediately. This is NOT a threat, it is simply a statement of fact.
Starlink was also crucial to preventing Russia from overrunning Ukraine in the early days of the war, as all other means of communication were destroyed or jammed by Russia.
SpaceX has done more to defend Ukraine than any private company on Earth BY FAR.

Why Hitting Iran Is Harder Than Hitting Israel
Trump seems to have made his decision. A resumption of the war now looks inevitable. Is that rational? We already know what Iran can do, and we know the limits of what Israel and the United States can defend against. Geography and han most people want to admit, and that makes the American choice look even stranger.
Iran is a large country with mountains, underground facilities, and infrastructure spread across a huge area. Hitting the things that really matter—the refineries, the power plants, the key ports, the military nodes—is not straightforward. Even if the top leadership in Tehran is taken out, the mosaic defense setup means the regional commanders already have standing orders and targets. They do not need to wait for new instructions from the center. That is a different problem from what we saw early on, when it took them time to reassemble a response.
Israel does not have the same geography working in its favor. The country is small. The major energy facilities, the power grid, the ports, and the critical infrastructure sit in a limited number of places that can be reached with relative ease. Removing a handful of those big nodes would create serious questions about how the country continues to function. That is not a claim about total destruction. It is simply a recognition that the physical scale is different, and the targeting problem is not symmetric.
I have no clear picture of how far the other actors would go if things escalate. Hezbollah has been quiet in certain ways, but the assumption that they would stay quiet if Iran is hit hard does not seem especially solid. The same goes for the Houthis. What I do see is that the side that can absorb punishment and still hit concentrated targets has a different set of options than the side that is trying to neutralize a dispersed, prepared network. The belief that one more push will collapse the other side has not held up so far. I do not know how the next round ends, but the practical difficulties of hitting what matters in Iran, and the relative ease of hitting what matters in Israel, are hard to ignore.

Russia has now pulled the last of the Bushehr nuclear plant. Tehran has publicly named Israel’s Dimona facility as a target marked “soon.” The pattern is no longer partial or preparatory.
