2000 Great Songs #1499: My World Fell Down. Wonderful swirl of late 60s baroque pop, a complex suite with delightful vocals, by a bunch of Beach Boys associates & studio musicians recording as psych/sunshine pop act Sagittarius. jitterywhiteguymusic.com/2026/10/2000-g…

Just saw the Elizabeth Holmes movie. It's a deeply inventive film & fascinating character study. But I represented clients in the Theranos investigation, and in case anyone got sucked in by the deliberate cinematic ambiguity: she was responsible for a massive fraud. Hard stop.

2000 Great Songs #1498: He Took Her To A Movie. Spooky, somewhat chilly electronica from Ladytron, not usually my speed, but I still remember hearing it cranked up on the loudspeakers before a concert one time and I could never get it out of my head. jitterywhiteguymusic.com/2026/10/2000-g…

Easy one.

2000 Great Songs #1497: Trust Me. Voice Of The Beehive capture that brief moment in the late 80s when all the most fun new music was being produced by women-fronted indie pop bands. jitterywhiteguymusic.com/2026/10/2000-g…

2000 Great Songs #1496: Golden. My Morning Jacket bring the cosmic Americana, a jangly yet reverberating heartland track that screams to be included on the playlist for every cross-country drive you'll ever make. jitterywhiteguymusic.com/2026/10/2000-g…

2000 Great Songs #1495: Bike Ride To The Moon. XTC, in their Dukes of Stratosphear costumes, update the delirious late 60s sunny psychedelia of Tomorrow and Barrett-era Pink Floyd. jitterywhiteguymusic.com/2026/10/2000-g…

2000 Great Songs #1494: The Needle & The Damage Done. Neil Young's gorgeous and sad flip-side to the Velvet Underground's "Heroin," tragically prescient but never maudlin. jitterywhiteguymusic.com/2026/10/2000-g…

Do you like post-Pet Sounds mid/late-60s Beach Boys? I updated an old mix of very Brian Wilson-esque songs and posted it online for your listening pleasure. Enjoy! jitterywhiteguymusic.com/2026/10/add-so…

2000 Great Songs #1493: Alex Chilton. When one of the greatest (but underappreciated) bands of the 80s creates a loving tribute to one of the greatest (but underappreciated) bands of the 70s, it's like some sort of massive cosmic convergence has occurred. jitterywhiteguymusic.com/2026/10/2000-g…
