the tools we do use are the ones we're forced to use; their discussion boards and review system is archaic and we endure these friction points ( and the % cut ) because Steam reaches a huge audience. That's it. That's their only advantage. It's _not_ technological.
@kiaran_ritchie @SheriefFYI We use basically none of these thing offered, and using most tools offered by steam is unwieldy.

I admit that when the computer added word processors I used it and there through helped put the companies making typewriters out of business. My penance? Increased productivity, no longer had to buy white-out and could send, via e-mail (eventually), my mss to editors, publishers, friends and the Library of Congress. I've been paying for not being a "Luddite" in many ways.
