@Makerereevin to rest at his ancestral home in Mityana this afternoon. I extend my sincere gratitude to the Office of the @DOS_Makerere for facilitating students to attend, and to the friends and classmates from @MakCEDAT @MakCEDATmah_h@nkrumah_halld up in solidarity.
A large number of s also turned up to pay their final respects.
As we mourn Kevin, there has never been a more urgent time for the University to prioritize and guarantee the safety of students on and around campus. In cases where tragedy is inevitable, investigations should be swift and effective, with perpetrators easily identified and apprehended. That way students will be safer. Adequate lighting, functional security cameras, and enhanced surveillance along walkways and streets are the basics.
Kevin’s loss must serve as a call to affirmative action. His memory deserves not just our grief but also meaningful change.
We shall remember him.
Rest in peace, Kevin. 🕊️
