Icarus knew what he was doing. It just didn’t work out for him. To grow like crazy you gotta fly close to the sun. The AI apps companies that have exploded the most have actually been the least defensible, because they've been closest to the models, which means they're closest to re changing the world. The trick for the winners is to ride the growth wave but add enough value on top. Be a Cursor. Not a Jasper.

No one is better positioned for a world of GPT-6/7 robotics progression than @jingli9111 and his insanely talented (stealth) team
Unitree CEO Wang Xingxing recently said that GPT-7 could solve the challenges of embodied AI entirely and that he had made a mistake by not taking AI seriously enough.

Quote: “We’ve put it (GPT-6) on various robots and tested it across a range of tasks, and the results have . Our company and other robotics companies are already running pilot deployments in factories. To achieve large-scale adoption, though, both generalization and efficiency still need to improve further. But I think these challenges could very well be resolved over the next few years. My faith in AI grows stronger every year. The biggest mistake I’ve made over the past decade or so has been not believing in AI enough. Deployment in commercial services may happen even faster than in industrial settings.”

My partner @LucasSheiner sat down w/ @_RobToews (Radical), @ajay_bcv (BCV), Conner Lovely (CapitalG), and @chuer_pan (Stanford) at Fellows Forum to talk about the future of robotics.

My thoughts:

1/Manufacturing will be the first big market. The value of robots is generalization and multitasking. Manufacturing in the US has been largely ignored in the last 20-30 years and faces a lack of skilled workers. There’s a big gap to be filled by robotics.

2/Services will come second, like delivery and healthcare.

3/The third wave will be home services. This will be much harder because of the direct interaction with consumers. A factory is a controlled environment where you may not need anyone working next to the robots. In homes you will always have people, so adoption will be slower.

“In five years, what’s the value split between robotics intelligence providers, vertical & end-application companies, and tools & infrastructure?”

@adnothing: 0 / 90 / 10

@nikhilabm: 15 / 70 / 15

@joshgruenstein: "I have no idea. I don't think anybody knows. I think the people who thinand so you should do all of it"

@ralfgulde: "I think I have to take the question with me"

Ralf, we’re still waiting on your split…

Noah lays out the @OrnnExchange thesis beautifully
When investors get together, they talk about margins and markets and models. When founders get together, they talk about where you can buy compute.

Mahi de Silva (@higgsfield co-founder) yesterday on stage with me at the @Fellows_Forum:

“We took a lot of inspiration out of Canva, the way they came into the market and disrupted a business that Adobe should have owned. They changed the price point, they gave you a legitimate free product that could be upsold, and they dramatically reduced the learning curve.

So instead of starting with a blank prompt box, we gave people a few hundred templates that they could use as their starting point.”
Today Higgsfield crossed $1B in annualized revenue.

We've grown 20x since September 2025.

There’s a popular argument that foundation models will capture all the value in AI, leaving little for the application layer.

Higgsfield is proving the opposite thesis, as better models can achieve and increase the value of applications embedded in their workflows.

That thesis is reflected in our business:
300% net revenue retention.
115% MoM growth in enterprise adoption since June.
Positive gross margin since the beginning of this year.

Thank you to our incredible team and everyone building it with us.

This is a fundamental misunderstanding of higgsfield’s business.

They are majority B2B these days. Table stakes platform among agencies and brand teams.
i feel like higgsfield is somewhat of a scam now that i'm generating ai videos myself.

they're preying on young people who want to make a quick buck by engagement hacking the timeline. it's like the venture backed company version of being a course bro at scale.

the ceiling of what's possible using their ui is incredibly low. i don't trust anyone who says that they're actually generating videos using it.

the only practical way to generate at scale is with an api endpoint & coding agents. i say this from lived experience.

that said, the promise of the technology is incredible & they're probably going to make a really great api & capture a ton of value from ai video. i just wish they did less gimmicky marketing & more user education.

but alas that's not how capitalism works...

.@UseCorgi is the fastest growing fintech in the world. Extreme PMF in several verticals - property management, trucking, startup, & more.

@nico_laqua, @emily_yuan_, and team are execution machines. Attention on X is part of the job. They do it well.
Cancel culture is alive and well, but, at Corgi, we have thick skin and believe strongly in freedom of expression.

For those who don’t know us, Corgi is an increasingly diversified financial institution, best known for our insurance products and generating hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue more quickly than any other financial services company before us.

Our approach is simple: find parts of financial services that are slow, expensive, manual, or broken, and use technology to make them faster, better, and cheaper, while protecting people and companies when things go wrong. While it’s easy to focus on our (comparably small, our marketing team is around ~10 people) marketing efforts, the entire team consists of real heroes that have allowed us to scale faster than any other financial services company in history by offering good products that save people money, save them time, and protect them when things go wrong.

If I’ve learned one thing about startups, it’s that VCs and very online figures care mostly about press and social media. However, real hackers and builders care about making a durable business, and that’s what we’re doing at Corgi. And to all the people trying constantly to get me to fire our team members for expressing themselves online: it’s not going to happen, and no, there aren’t KPIs tied to social media presence at corgi currently, we just haven’t censored our team historically nor are we going to start now. It’s a great thing that our team consists of culturally important figures who share their opinions, and companies would generally be more ambitious if they did not attempt to censor their team and revert to corporate slop.
