Please join me in supporting
this wonderful idea. A statue of Terry in Colwyn Bay.
The idea for a statue came from Terry’s friends at Theatr Colwyn in Colwyn Bay. Terry was their first, and only, patron for some time. After we lost him to dementia in January 2020, they contacted us and asked if we thought a statue of Terry might be something we could help them with.
Born in Colwyn Bay, Terry never got over being transplanted to Surrey at the age of five. He fiercely proclaimed his Welshness in an accent straight out of Guildford. Terry would be so proud if a statue of him could encourage people to visit Colwyn Bay and continue his passion to help promote the arts in North Wales. The plan is to have a life size statue, sat on the promenade in Colwyn Bay not on a plinth but on the ground next to kids eating ice cream in the summer and brave souls donning wetsuits for a winter dip in the bay. We thought he would like it best if he was in character, something for people to recognise with a chuckle.
To make a donation please do so here gofundme.com/terryjonesstat… Go Fund Me will guide you through the process, or if you would like to make it directly to the charity I can send you their details. We are at the very beginning of our campaign. We are hoping to succeed without public funding, and would love to raise £120,000 with the support of his friends and fans around the world. Colwyn Bay gave us Terry and we are hoping to give something back.

So I have been having a little look at the people who run some of the Welsh anti-20mph Facebook groups.
It seems that many of them a run by Tory politicians.... who live in England....and support 20mph where they live....
Let's go on a journey (at a very safe speed).

The felling of the #SycamoreGap tree is a travesty, but I wonder how many people expressing online outrage have also tarmacked over their front gardens and astroturfed their back gardens, cutting down trees in the process?

When you look at the free scoring game at the Oval last night and compare it to @thehundred final at Lords, you wonder why they'd play a final there.
