Building the future of financial services requires more than innovative technology. It requires the banking infrastructure, operational rigor, and regulatory expertise to make that innovation possible.
In a new Bloomberg @business profile, @PaigeSmithNews takes a closer look at @jackiereses's journey to building Lead, our growth, and the role we're playing in powering some of the world's leading fintech companies.

Much of today’s traditional financial system has been built to exclude bots. AI is fundamentally changing this philosophy now that machines are operating at scale and defining our future. That’s exactly why we've presented a framework to help regulators understand how our laws need to be updated.

For more than 50 years, banks have built systems to know who their customers are. “Know Your Agent” needs to become as fundamental as knowing your customer.
Who is this agent? Who authorized it? What exactly is it allowed to do? And how quickly can that authority be revoked?
ork for agentic finance, we outline a “Know Your Agent” model built around verifiable agent identity, explicit mandates, scoped credentials, and continuous monitoring.
The shift is important: an AI agent with financial authority shouldn’t simply be treated as another piece of software. It becomes a distinct actor in the financial system and the control environment needs to recognize it as one.

Conversations about AI regulation stop being abstract once AI can move money.
Thanks to @andrewrsorkin and @SquawkCNBC for having me on to talk about how financial services can be a blueprint for governing agentic AI.
The age of agentic finance is coming and it's time to update the rules.

It was an honor to welcome Acting U.S. Secretary of Labor @keithsonderling, leaders from the Missouri Division of Finance, and several of our fintech clients to @Lead_Bank's headquarters in Kansas City for a conversation about AI and job growth.
One theme really stood out to me: e of work isn't about predicting every skill we'll need. It's about building cultures where people can continuously learn, adapt, and grow.
This is one of those moments when I see how Lead can serve as a unique bridge between the public and private sector. I'm especially proud that we're having these conversations here in Kansas City and obviously hosted at Lead. The Midwest has an important role to play in building the next generation of companies, jobs, and careers. We have a fantastic team in Kansas City that serves our multi-national client base and we were happy to showcase the expertise of teams from Financial Crimes to Operations. We have a lot of home grown talent that understands the importance of Client Centricity.
Thanks for coming Secretary Sonderling so we could showcase and highlight how we use AI to support the skills of our team and company.

AI agents are starting to move money for consumers and businesses. U.S. banking law still assumes a human approves every transaction.
Today we're publishing a proposed federal framework for agentic finance.
It includes:
→ A new "Authorized Financial Agent" category for AI ble mandate
→ Clear rules on authorization, liability, and revocation
→ A phased roadmap, starting with steps supervisors can take now
→ A model Know Your Agent (KYA) program for bank oversight
Innovation and strong controls aren't a trade-off. Read the paper here: lead.bank/blog/leading-i…

First G20 in the books for @jackiereses representing Lead.
I've been in some pretty remarkable rooms over the course of my career. Last week, I had the opportunity to present at the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors meetings. Of the handful of institutional banks that were represented, @Lead_Bank was there alongside , and Citi. Just wow.
I presented on three things reshaping global finance:
agentic commerce and what it means for banking infrastructure the rise of digital and programmable financial services the new fraud vectors all of this creates.
If I had to summarize the reaction, I would say that global leaders were receptive to tactical recommendations on what achieving interoperability will actually require. And, I’d say there was a general skepticism around deploying technologies without defining what problems they actually solving.

Traveling to a new city usually requires a few different transportation methods: a car to the airport, a flight, a train to your hotel. Each switch costs you a wait, a ticket, or a scramble to figure out the next one.
Money moves the same way, hopping across rails that don't dds friction.
But where there is friction, there is room to make things more efficient.
The next post in our stablecoin series zooms out to explain how money moves today, both at home and across borders, and why the network a payment rides on matters so much.👇

The Lead origin story never gets old - and we're proud to be one of the first banks in the U.S. do offer onchain products.
In her own words, @jackiereses, Co-Founder and CEO: "On ramps and off ramps are such a critical piece of a crypto transaction... I want to see the rails of the financial system totally different than what they are today. Interoperable. Programmable. There are so many use cases being created across the entire crypto industry."

Friday night purchase. Monday morning settlement. That gap isn't a bug — it's the financial system working exactly as designed. Fedwire, the rail that powers card settlement, runs on business hours. Always has.
In her second post, @EleniThinks breaks down why the weekend problem exists, what it actually costs, and why stablecoins are uniquely positioned to fix it — not just for crypto programs, but for every card program on the platform.
