A small university in Indiana keeps a second, separately registered federal record that almost nobody opens. On that record sit 9,123 graduate students, 98.3% of them foreign nationals. Trine University.
Trine paid roughly $16 million to a single recruiting agency that runs its offices out of Hyderabad and Warangal. The person that agency lists as its contact is the same person Trine's own press release calls its director of international graduate student recruitment.
None of those payments appear anywhere in eleven years of Trine's audited financial statements.
This is their graduating class.

A university in Irvine runs a doctorate that 375 students were scheduled to finish in 2024. Zero of them finished on time. The program handed out six degrees. Westcliff University.
The same school teaches the same doctorate online. That version graduated 11 on time.
Foreign the online one. Federal rules cap how much online coursework counts toward a student visa, which puts F-1 students in the in-person track. That track costs $56,400. It is the one with zero.
Across all seven years California has published both tracks, 2018 through 2024, the in-person one finished worse every time.

@LayoffAI Long and often annoying exchange with Grok on this, and on history leading here. Grok seems pretrained to insert spell words ("conspiracy", "committee") to derail. I didn't see it do this in past years. x.com/i/grok/share/8…

@LayoffAIted a girl back in 2010 who went to Monmouth College, a small liberal arts school out in Podunk Illinois. Not a particularly notable school by any measure. But when I visited, I recall there being a TON of Indians and Nepalis. At a rando liberal arts school, notable for nothing in particular, in the middle of nowhere. In retrospect, its clear this has been some moneymaking scheme all along. Im sure Monmouth made some kind of federal money hand over fist from these foreign students.

@LayoffAI Here’s the amounts
@LouAZMerrijul @DonnFFlipser@LayoffAI-24 Pell Grants $3.3M and federal loans $10.1M. Prior years since 2021 similar (~$2.8-3.3M Pell + ~$9.8-10.7M loans annually). Full Title IV (incl. campus-based and grad loans) requires FSA Data Center file downloads. Foreign nationals stay ineligible.

@LayoffAI The student visa scam is easily as bad as the H1B scam. Americans are being steamrolled by these. Imo unless the country closes down the visa application process for a decade we are doomed as a nation and society.

@LayoffAInational graduate programs. Treasonous.
Trine University’s master’s and doctorate (graduate) student ethnic demographics differ significantly by campus/program type.
Official Fall 2025 Data (University Sources)
Trine reports a total graduate enrollment of 8,442 students. The majority are in the College of Graduate and Professional Studies (CGPS)/TrineOnline, with a smaller group in the Brooks College of Health Professions (Fort Wayne).
College of Graduate and Professional Studies (CGPS / TrineOnline) — the bulk of master’s (and some doctoral) students:
•International (non-resident alien): 88.0%
•Minority (U.S. domestic students of color): 3.1%
•Gender: 59.0% male, 40.7% female
•Age: 83.1% are 25 or older
This indicates that the large graduate population (especially online/professional master’s programs) is predominantly international, with very low representation of U.S. racial/ethnic minorities among domestic students.
Brooks College of Health Professions (includes professional doctorates such as Doctor of Physical Therapy and Doctor of Occupational Therapy, plus master’s programs like Physician Assistant):
•International: 0.6%
•Minority: 11.0%
•Gender: 20.6% male, 77.4% female
•Age: 68.4% are 24 or younger
Additional Context from Aggregated/IPEDS-Style Data
Public data sources that report a much smaller “graduate” headcount (often ~200–300 students) typically reflect main-campus or on-ground programs rather than the full CGPS enrollment. In those figures:
•Students are predominantly White (historically in the 75–83% range in available breakdowns).
•Full-time graduate students are most commonly White female, followed by White male, then smaller shares of Hispanic or Latino students.
•Other groups (Black/African American, Asian, multiracial, etc.) make up smaller percentages.
Detailed public breakdowns that further subdivide the large international graduate cohort by specific race/ethnicity (or provide fine-grained domestic race/ethnicity tables for all master’s + doctorate students) are limited. University reports primarily use the “International” vs. “Minority” categories for the graduate divisions.
In short: Master’s and doctorate students overall are heavily international due to CGPS/TrineOnline programs, while the smaller health professions graduate cohort shows modestly higher domestic minority representation and is majority female.
For the most current or program-specific numbers, check Trine’s Student Right to Know page or contact the university directly, as enrollment can shift. Let me know if you need comparisons to undergraduates, specific programs, or other details!
