That's why you can't trust everything Ai tells you. Ai makes mistakes too even when it comes to coding and scripting etc. Nothing going to be perfect.

Happy Tuesday!

Happy Halloween 🎃 everyone.

I was playing pool this week.

I want to embrace cybersecurity education.

Did you know that sam aka security account manager stores local user accounts credentials and password.

In my first job, someone forgot his password. I use hiren boot cd to the windows operating system.

You can still use the hiren boot cd on windows 11. This is why most places recommend blocking USB drives and also disabling thumb drives in the bios so it doesn't give the person the option to boot up to a usb drive.

Last thing you want is for someone to manipulate your windows operating system. Stay safe, be smart and Happy Halloween 🎃.

When I worked Senior Soc Analyst for an msp company. I didnt have tools that would helped me in my career so I had to do research. Some tools listed here, I used at work because it was free and I was the first person in charge of building our soc team.

My manager threw the key to me and gave me access to AWS, GCP, Azure and Google admin, etc.

Here are some free Tools that helped me in Soc:

browserling.com Application that opens urls in sandbox and its free. This will show you if the website is legit or not.

virustotal.com/gui/home/upload free tool to scan a pdf file or even a url.

ipinfo.io verify ip addresses

haveibeenpwned.com free tool to check if your password or email address has been breached in the past.

mxtoolbox.com This test will list MX records for a domain in priority order. The MX lookup is done directly against the domains authoritative name server.

toolbox.googleapps.com/apps/main/

talosintelligence.com/reputation_cen… The Talos Intelligence Center is the world’s most comprehensive real-time threat detection network.

snort.org intrusion detection system

zeek.org monitoring tool

mailscanner.info MailScanner is a highly respected open source email security system design for Linux-based email gateways. It is used at over 40,000 sites around the world, protecting top government departments, commercial corporations and educational institutions. This technology has fast become the standard email solution at many ISP sites for virus protection and spam filtering.

spamassassin.apache.org Apache SpamAssassin is the #1 Open Source anti-spam platform giving system administrators a filter to classify email and block spam

virustotal.github.io/yara/ YARA is a tool aimed at (but not limited to) helping malware researchers to identify and classify malware samples. With YARA you can create descriptions of malware families (or whatever you want to describe) based on textual or binary patterns.

clamav.net ClamAV® is an open-source antivirus engine for detecting trojans, viruses, malware amp; other malicious threats.

Happy Learning! Happy Wednesday!
