Kansas GOP to kick-off statewide bus tour

The Kansas Republican Party will kick off a six-day, statewide bus tour beginning Monday, October 12, carrying the GOP ticket to communities across Kansas ahead of the 2026 general election. The tour will start with a . 12 in Wichita. The tour will visit more than 20 cities from Wichita to the Kansas City metro before closing in Kansas’s 4th Congressional District.

WHAT: The “Take Back Kansas” statewide bus tour, featuring press conferences, rallies, and community stops highlighting Kansas agriculture, energy, manufacturing, education, healthcare and public safety.

WHO: The tour is expected to be joined at various stops by U.S. Sen. Roger Marshall; U.S. Sen. Jerry Moran; the Republican nominee for Governor and Senate President Ty Masterson and running mate Jeff Klemp; Attorney General Kris Kobach; Secretary of State Republican nominee Pat Proctor; Treasurer Steven Johnson; the Republican nominee for Insurance Commissioner and Speaker of the House Dan Hawkins; U.S. Reps. 🚨TOPEKA – (September 30, 2026) – The Kansas Republican Party today announced that Executive Director Rob Fillion filed a formal complaint with the Federal Election Commission against Katy Tyndell’s campaign for congress, and Leading Kansas, the nonprofit corporation Tyndell s to control.

The complaint alleges violations of a federal law that prohibits corporations — including nonprofit corporations — from contributing to federal candidates. It further alleges that Tyndell used Leading Kansas’ corporate resources to promote her campaign for Kansas’ 4th Congressional District rather than building that support through her own campaign committee.

“Federal law very clearly prohibits corporations, including nonprofit corporations, from contributing to federal candidates. Candidates are prohibited from using corporate resources to promote their campaigns. Katy Tyndell has done exactly that,” Fillion said.

According to the complaint, Tyndell is both the Democratic nominee in KS-04 and co-president of Leading Kansas, which she has described as a “nonpartisan civic engagement organization.” The filing alleges she used the organization’s email list to deliver campaign messages, its programming and platform to host events that produced a public endorsement of her candidacy, and its debate sponsorship to blur the line between the nonprofit and her campaign.

“Instead of building her campaign on her own, she used Leading Kansas’ resources to reach voters and advance her candidacy. That is not civic engagement. It is an illegal in-kind contribution. It is an attempt to inject undisclosed dark money into a federal race and to treat a nonprofit she controls as an arm of her campaign,” Fillion said.

The complaint cites, among other items:

March 29 and April 20, 2026 emails sent from Tyndell’s Leading Kansas address to the organization’s list announcing her congressional campaign and soliciting continued engagement while she remained tied to the group
Leading Kansas-hosted events featuring Michael Fanone that were followed by Fanone’s public endorsement of Tyndell
A July 17, 2026 candidate debate sponsored by Leading Kansas in which Tyndell identified herself as co-founder of the sponsoring organization
Campaign Facebook posts linking Leading Kansas programming to her candidacy and directing supporters to donate at katyforkansas.com

Kansas GOP Vice Chair Andy Hooser said the filing is about protecting a fair race, not scoring political points.

“Kansans deserve a fair election, not a Democrat who treats a nonprofit she founded as a slush fund for her own campaign,” Hooser said. “Democrats never stop lecturing everyone else about dark money and ‘saving democracy.' Then they turn around and run their own candidate using a dark-money group she still controls. This is the Democrat playbook: one set of rules for them, another for everyone else. The law applies to Democrats too.”

Fillion asked the Commission to investigate immediately, determine whether prohibited corporate in-kind contributions were made and accepted, hold Tyndell, her campaign, and Leading Kansas accountable, and stop the conduct before it further taints the KS-04 race.
