A while back, a B2B client came to me wanting to build on X.

First thing we got clear on?

She didn’t care about engagement.
She just wanted leads.

That clarity changed everything.

Because once the goal is clear,
you stop chasing what doesn’t matter.

So we got to work.

She fluff.
No trendy takes.

Just sharing:
-How she helps her ICP
–Problems her audience actually cares about.

That was it.

3 weeks in.

We gained 100 followers
(not the goal, but cool to see).

More importantly?
Followers who were potential clients.

About 5 inbound leads from people she actually wanted to work with.

Nothing fancy. Nothing viral.
But it worked.

What made the difference wasn’t hacks or algorithms.

It was her ruthlessly speaking to her ICP.

And me helping her build real connections with them.

That’s all.

A lot of people think getting clients from X is impossible.

But every client I’ve worked with came from here.

So if you’re a founder or agency owner posting consistently but still attracting the wrong people...
DM me “LEAD” and let’s fix that.

It's Sunday.

Make time to learn more about God.

You may already know a lot, but there's still so much you don't know.

Happy Sunday! 🤍

You should post 3 times a day.

You should post 6 times a day.

Hell, post 10 times a day if you want.

It's good for building visibility.

Just don't sacrifice quality for quantity.

Your content still needs to give the right people a reason to pay attention.

My advice?
Post as often as you can without compromising the quality of your content.

I was having a conversation with a friend @nino_techh this morning, and it got me thinking about something we don’t talk about enough.

The reality of building brands for other people.

Regardless of how you’re feeling, you still have to show up for your clients.

You could be ling unmotivated, struggling to get your own things together, or simply wishing you could take a break.

But your clients still have content to put out. Their pages still need attention. There are ideas to develop, strategies to work on, deadlines to meet, and messages to respond to.

And you have to find a way to show up and do the work.

Meanwhile, you’re also trying to build your own brand, work on your own goals, and make progress on the things you’ve been putting off.

Sometimes, you’re so busy helping other people build their brands that yours has to wait. 🥲

It’s a lot, honestly. And I think the people who do this work deserve more credit than they get.

As a social media and content strategist, I know that building a brand goes beyond coming up with content ideas and making sure posts go out consistently.

There’s strategy, planning, audience understanding, problem-solving, and so much work that people don’t always see.

And that’s part of what I want to share here as The Digital Girl Next Door , the work behind the content, the strategy behind the posts, and the realities of building brands online.

If you’re building a brand and need someone who thinks beyond just what to post, you’re in the right place.🦋

I started monetizing my brand at just 90+ followers.

I've made so much more since then.

Because of that, I've always made sure I prioritize the people I'm bringing in.

Unless you're building just for visibility or clout...

The people you're attracting should matter a lot to nce of the wrong people is costly in the long run, especially if you plan to monetize it.

Cliche but…

I'd rather you build an audience of 1,000 people who buy from you than 10,000 people who don't.

I'm at 400 followers.

Yet I've:

→ Generated 400k+ impressions for a client within our first 5 months.
→ Generated 100k impressions for them in a week.
→ Helped grow their account from 600 to 1.8k followers during that period.

(Yes, they just wanted visibility.)
Nothing too show my followers count doesn't dictate what I've achieved for clients.

I'm still growing my own audience, but I've already proven I can help others grow theirs.

And I'll take that over a big following with nothing to show for it.

If I'm the one dropping the replies, then 10x more replies is the best option here.

Here's how I'd use it:

→ Build a list of 200 active people who fit my ICP.

→ Show up in their replies daily. And make sure to add something useful to the conversation.

→ After a few days of engagement, send a personalized warm DM.

→ Build the conversation from there.

Then you're just not another guy in their inbox.

They've seen your name, read your thoughts, and have some context about you.

That makes starting a conversation much easier.
your distribution gets one upgrade:

10x more followers
10x more replies
10x more DMs

pick one.

Woke up to 400 followers. 🎉

Appreciate everyone following along on this journey.

I only recently started taking growing my brand on here seriously.

Good to see the progress so far.

We're just getting started. 🤝

Haven't really talked much about this here...

One of my hidden skills is drawing.

Weird one, I know.

I've always loved it. Still do.

I can spend months on a single piece.

Because I'm very detailed with everything I do, and I don't like rushing things. Lol.

I stopped taking king a living from art isn't exactly easy here in Nigeria.

If you'd told me back in 2021 that I'd be building brands for business owners online, I'd have asked what the hell you were talking about. 😂

Do I still miss it?
Sure.

Maybe one day I'll have more time to get back to it.

But for now, I can flex some of my works here.😅

P.s: which do you love more A or B 😅

You don't need a big audience to attract your ICP.

You just need the right people to notice you.

“Listen more, you'll sell more.”

I've heard that a lot.

And I'm sure most of us have too.

But it's actually not as simple as it sounds.

You don't jump on every sales call and have the client immediately pour out their problems and tell you exactly what they need you to solve.

Hell, some don't even know what their real problem is.

So before you “listen more,” you need to "ask better questions"...

"What made you interested?"

"Why is this a problem, and why now?"

"How have you been trying to fix it?"

"What would success look like?"

Listening more won't necessarily make you sell more.

Asking better questions will.

If you keep leaving sales calls with more questions than answers,

you probably haven't asked enough of the right ones.

"I don't have anything to post"

If you're still telling yourself this, then you need to get of social media and start building more.

I show up on socials for a living, and there are days I get all my content ideas all from commenting.

You can't lack ideas if you're busy building.

Just a fact:

Anybody can grow a follower count.

Not everyone can monetize it.

A year ago, I lost a client because I overdelivered.

Yes, you heard me right.

I used to think the secret to client retention was simple:

Overdeliver. Do more. Go the extra mile.

So that's what I did.

The problem?

I kept taking on extra work that wasn't part of what we'd re, got burnt out, and eventually struggled to keep up with the work I was actually being paid for.

That led to me and the client parting ways.

Funny how that works.

I was so busy trying to prove my value by doing more, that I struggled to deliver on what already mattered.

That's when I knew...

Overdelivering doesn't mean constantly doing work outside your scope to prove you're good.

If you're hired for appointment setting, focus on booking qualified calls.

You don't need to start joining sales calls to prove your value.

Hired for content creation? Create content that supports the client's goals.

You don't need to start managing their engagement, too.

There's nothing wrong with going the extra mile occasionally.

But when extra work becomes your standard, you'll eventually pay for it.

Do the work you agreed to do. Do it well. Do it consistently.

You don't have to keep adding more to prove you're worth what you're paid.

Wish I'd learned this earlier.

Your follower count can give you credibility.

Your results give you proof.

Work towards both.

You put in the work.

You get what you get, you accept it.

Then you figure out what to do better next time.

Universal acceptance.

I'm done!

It's what I kept telling myself most of the time last year.

Almost all of 2025 was a real dry season for me.

Had the worst possible start to the year...

Lost my last 2 clients.
Neglected my brand beforehand.
Got robbed and scammed.

All within the space of one led with it mentally.

Went months being inconsistent and closing 0 deals.

It was really messy.

But looking at things now?

Clients closed.
Calls lining up.
Another potential client kicking off this month.
Lots of ideas to pull in more leads through inbound + outbound.

None of this is a crazy result.

(I'm not making $10k/month. Lol.)

But looking back, this is a huge win for me.

And the funny thing?

I haven't even been super consistent yet.

Just stuck to the game.

You can quit as many times as you want.

Just make sure you get back to the work as soon as you can.

Crazy how much can change in a year when you don't completely walk away.

I'm living proof.

Xers who are also building on LinkedIn, I need your help. 🙏

I've been restricted on LinkedIn for 1+ month now and can't comment on posts from people outside my network.

I can still post, connect, DM, and do everything else.

Has anyone dealt with this before? How did you get it resolved?
