Might as well sit back and wait for 2027. I’m not expecting a true next generation leap for the rest of this year, and I don’t think we’ll see AGI until 2028.

Quand on regarde les dernières grosses sorties :
• OpenAI : GPT-6 Astra : 3 septembre, il y a déjà plus de 6 semaines.
• Anthropic : Claude Opus 5.5 : 22 septembre, bientôt un mois. Fable 5.1 sorti le 1er septembre soit plus d’un mois et demi
Je sais, c’est complètement ridicule de trouver le temps long alors qu’on a des modèles aussi puissants à disposition et qu’il y a encore un an, on aurait halluciné devant leurs capacités. 😅
Mais on s’habitue tellement vite aux progrès que j’ai déjà envie de voir ce qu’OpenAI et Anthropic nous préparent pour la suite !
Et vu la concurrence actuelle, je me dis qu’on pourrait bien avoir une petite surprise dans les prochains jours… 👀

Anthropic promising prosperity is making me bullish
We’re committing a portion of Anthropic’s shares to the Anthropic Public Benefit Fund, a new wholly owned entity dedicated entirely to the public benefit.
It will start off with 5% of our shares. For every 50% increase in the company’s value over a set baseline, we can contribute up to an extra 2%, subject to our board’s discretion.
In total, this means that roughly 20% of Anthropic’s shares are committed to the public good. Our co-founders have already pledged to donate 80% of their equity, and around half our employees are donating a portion of their equity as part of a donation matching program we’ve run since our founding.

Not only is DeepSeek coming in with Opus 5.5 level models, they’re also starting to undercut the whole OpenAI Cerebras speed narrative they’ve been pushing online, while keeping the best of it locked behind $100+ Pro plans.

DeepSeek V4.1 Flash 1017 is hitting 244 tokens per second, that's incredible! It's even faster than GPT 6.1 Sol in Ultrafast mode while offering intelligence comparable to GPT 5.6 Sol, what a time to be following AI! I still can't understand how they can offer this level of ch a low price, and from my first tests I've seen speeds reaching almost 300 tokens per second. It now has its own built in web research capabilities and is completely free to use through DeepSeek's official harness until October 31, The improvements in both coding and 3D are also really noticeable compared to previous versions, and after everything I've tested so far, I have no doubt this is a frontier level model, I still can't believe how quickly DeepSeek is improving!

Did Deepseek just amplify the pricing war?
Deepseek V4.1 flash apparently codes at Opus 5 level at 2% of the cost.
Anthropic has already made Opus 5.5 dirt cheap in its subscriptions.
OpenAI is serving near unlimited Sol 6.1 in their subscriptions.
Now we have deepseek serving a 200tps+ model basically for free.
These labs are racing to the bottom.

But apparently I’m the dangerous one because I want an AI to help me articulate a political opinion.
Corporations can lobby. Billionaires can lobby. AI executives can try to influence the rules governing their own technology.
But Joe on the internet wants help writing an argument and suddenly we need to protect the sacred institution of neutrality.
This is exactly why, when I want to say something serious without having my argument sanded down into corporate oatmeal, I use Grok.
