I have long supported voter ID requirements for federal elections, which is why I cosponsored the SAVE Act to make certain only U.S. citizens are voting in federal elections.

Spirit Defense is continuing Wichita’s long history of defense manufacturing, and today we cut the ribbon on its newly renovated production facility. This new facility will support the assembly of the Air Force’s Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) program, bringing more jobs to utting-edge aircraft for our military.

As demands on our defense industrial base increase, I remain committed to supporting Spirit Defense and its workforce, making certain they have the resources needed to grow and drive the next generation of defense technology for our nation. Thank you to CEO Keith Scrader and the entire Spirit Defense team for their critical work and ongoing investment in Kansas. A special thank you to U.S. Representative Ron Estes, Wichita Mayor Lily Wu, Kansas House Speaker Pro Tem Blake Carpenter, State Representatives Sandy Pickert and Leah Howell, State Senators Oletha Faust-Goudeau and Rick Billinger, Sedgwick County Commission Chair Jeff Blubaugh and Commissioners Jim Howell, Pete Meitzner and Stephanie Wise for joining us.

Drug overdoses are a leading cause of death in our nation, and #RedRibbonWeek provides the opportunity to educate on the risk of illicit drugs, support prevention efforts and recognize the law enforcement officers who work every day to keep us safe. I led a resolution with House and @JohnCornyn recognizing Red Ribbon Week and emphasizing the importance of fighting illicit drugs in our country.

Make a difference. Be a hero. Stay drug free.

136 years ago, Kansas’ favorite son was born. President Eisenhower exemplified the best of Kansas, and he never forgot his roots throughout his extraordinary life. On his birthday, we reflect on his journey from a small-town Kansas boy to the Supreme Allied Commander in WWII to dent – a legacy that continues to inspire Kansans and Americans.

If you visit Washington, D.C., I encourage you to stop by the Eisenhower Memorial, which features a tribute to his 1945 homecoming speech in Abilene.

This morning, shortly after the shift change, I visited Bombardier and met with employees as I walked the facility. Employees shared with me their experience at the company and how they are contributing to our aerospace industry. Nearly 1,500 Kansans are employed at Bombardier, rtise to our national defense and aerospace manufacturing.

In 2022, Bombardier expanded its presence in Kansas by selecting Wichita as its U.S. headquarters. Their continued growth in the Air Capital of the World is driven by Kansas’ skilled workforce, cutting-edge research at our universities and the hundreds of smaller manufacturers who contribute to the local aerospace community.

I will continue supporting Bombardier’s efforts to grow and create more American jobs as they contribute to the aerospace industry and our national defense. Thank you to everyone at Bombardier for the many conversations.

Sanctions on Russian fuel exports have, for the last several years, deprived funding for Putin’s unjust war in Ukraine and provided leverage to help end it. We should be tightening sanctions further, not undercutting them by allowing the import of Russian diesel and risking erasing our leverage, damaging our credibility with allies, and emboldening our adversaries.

USDA has announced $13.8 billion in ARC/PLC payments for farmers for the 2025 crop year, providing important support at a critical time for Kansas producers.

While these payments display the tangible benefits of provisions in last year’s reconciliation bill that modernized farm safety net programs, the significant increase in payments compared to last year reflects the tremendous challenges U.S. producers are facing due to high input costs and limited markets.

I am committed to continue working both to expand markets for Kansas producers and make certain they have the support they need to withstand difficult times.
🚨 USDA is announcing historic payments of $13.8 BILLION to eligible agricultural producers for the 2025 crop year through @usdaFSA's Agriculture Risk Coverage and Price Loss Coverage programs.

Thanks to @POTUS' Working Families Tax Cuts Act that increased reference prices, ual payout by far since these key safety net programs were established in the 2014 Farm Bill.

✅ Delivering direct support to America’s farmers and strengthening the agricultural economy 🚜💪

The Army’s investigation demonstrates a series of failures – faulty equipment, a lack of adequate tracking technology and dangerous flight paths – that led to the tragic accident on January 29, 2025, which claimed the lives of 67 individuals, including seven Kansans. Just as the National Transportation Safety Board recommended last year, the Army’s report further demonstrates the urgent need for comprehensive aviation safety legislation requiring ADS-B In for all aircraft operating in busy airspace.

I share the commitment of the Families of Flight 5342 to swiftly advancing aviation safety legislation. Over the summer, productive negotiations have taken place between the House and Senate, and we continue working with the administration to craft a bill that can pass both chambers and be signed into law. The tragic aviation collision changed the way we look at aviation safety, and I am committed to ensuring the Army and FAA act quickly to implement these recommendations to prevent future tragedies in our skies.
