I personally enjoy Halloween. I love seeing the kids dress up as princesses, ninjas, cops, space rangers, and fairies. Going door-to-door and socializing with your neighbors is fun.

I don’t like the violent costumes though. Last night we were at a party and a beautiful little girl was dressed as a cheerleader with a bloody Glasgow smile. She was maybe 8. There’s no way she knew what the red paint on her face meant, not really. But my gut reaction was, “Who would paint that on their child?”

Plastic skeletons and fake grave stones are campy and I don’t mind that stuff. It’s cartoonishly dark and PG creepy. But making your kid look like they’ve been grotesquely tortured and murdered is gross and wrong.

We’ve reached a place where we can’t tell what’s real anymore. Illusions are replacing reality. This will not be good for society. People will grow more apathetic and sociopathic, and our ability to empathize will continue to erode. Crime and mental illness will skyrocket.
Today we’re launching the first AI modeling agency 💅 right inside Glif.

Cast hundreds of real AI models, drop your product, idea or brief and let Glif create super compelling content for you end to end.

Kaidence Clyburn (5) is missing from Dalzell, South Carolina.

She was last seen on October 30th around 5pm in the 3200 block of Spring Hill Road.

What concerns me is how little information has been released about the circumstances.

Did Kaidence wander away? Who last saw her? ch underway?

She’s FIVE years old. Those are important questions.

Kaidence was reportedly wearing a red Christmas dress, red and white tights, and white and silver Adidas shoes.

If you have information about her whereabouts, please contact the Lee County Sheriff’s Office or call 911.

I hope this little girl is found safe.

I wish someone would send out anonymous mailers accurately promoting local Bible believing churches. Sure, some recipients might be offended, but the churches would welcome the free promo 🙃

10YO has had her heart set on one of those inflatable T-Rex costumes for weeks. Unfortunately, her Amazon order got lost in the mail, which upset her greatly. So, naturally, I ordered a second one through Walmart yesterday, and I've been tracking it almost hourly from their "hub" in Dallas. It's now 30 minutes away in Sealy. I've never been so emotionally invested in a dinosaur costume (or really any costume) in my life.

Woohoo! It finally came! It’s funny, she has a party tonight so I was worrying all day about whether it would get here in time. Finally, about 5 minutes ago, I prayed, “God, I know this is goofy, and there are so many more important things going on in the world, but if her d within the next 2 hours it would make her so happy, and she’s such a sweet little girl.” And there it was! I need to pray about little things more often 😂

It's horrifying and fascinating, the effect p-rn has on the mind. Show me a person who is prideful, heartless, and cruel, with sociopathic tendencies, and I can almost guarantee you that they look at p-rn.
@dustynewsnet2 @SlowToWrite You follow a bunch of p-rn accounts. Maybe clean up your own house before you criticize someone else's.

It’s important to clear something up that I see misunderstood quite often.

If a pastor has a sexual relationship with a parishioner, it can never be described as consensual. This isn’t opinion – it’s a matter of clergy ethics.

It is malpractice – and an abuse of power.

Tennessee ought to be able to competently execute criminals. The local low-cost animal shelter could have done a better job.

That being said, I have absolutely no pity for Pike. Whatever she’s going through is a fraction of the hell she put Colleen through.

An update on Samuel Sey. Please continue to pray for this family:
From Annie Sey: The Sey family would like to thank our brothers and sisters from across the world who have sent messages, offered prayers, and supported us financially through this very difficult time. We sincerely believed we were following the legal process, which we continue to respect. Sadly, Samuel was removed from the U.S. and is in Canada as of today, October 30. Although this has been devastating to our family and the outcome is not what we had hoped, we will trust God’s sovereign plan and work to reunite our family.

I have no idea whether she's drunk.

To me it just sounds like she's losing her voice.

If she is drunk though, it's a gross thing for Daugherty to gloat over, particularly when you recall that Vivek produced an ad featuring her abusive dead-beat mom degrading her and calling her a liar. This isn't a win for anyone. It’s just ... sad.
🚨 OMG. Amy Acton is HAMMERED...

She straight-up embarrassed herself, walking out and slurring like she's drunk out of her mind!

"Ohhh it's so GOOD. Good to be back here, it's about truuuth and justice I just wrote on the worrrr, words back here. That is. I'm honored to be T make the wrong choice on Tuesday, Vivek is your only option to maintain sanity!

Keep Ohio red. Don't hand the governorship over to this PSYCHO

The "You coddle your kids too much! Back in my day, kids knew how to survive! After my daddy became a pirate and my momma ran off to join the circus, my 8YO big sister baked rocks for us to eat, and I turned out just fine," argument is really not compelling.

Wild that a “clump of cells” can develop a sleep routine 🤔
Very cool! Babies’ internal clocks may even start developing before birth.

Expecting mothers with more regular sleep schedules also tended to have babies who slept more at night.

Your sleep schedule during pregnancy may help shape your baby’s body clock.

When I look at images like this, I'm reminded of all things of Tom Bombadil from The Lord of the Rings. Hear me out, y'all.

We've observed so many incredible phenomena in the universe, but the overwhelmingly vast majority of it will forever be unseen by human eyes. We've just n our own Galaxy, and it's one of perhaps a trillion galaxies in the observable universe. How many incredible scenes like the one below will never be viewed by anyone but God? So, why do they exist?

This is where I agree somewhat with critical atheists who seem compelled to point out the absurdity of thinking the entire universe was created *just* for us. I don't think the universe was created just for us. Scripture tells us that not only was the universe created through and by Jesus Christ, but it was created FOR him. God created it for his own purposes, and we're obviously a part of that. But isn't it possible that the audacious, outlandish, and incredibly dramatic beauty of the universe is the result of an artist creating to delight himself?

This is where Tom Bombadil comes in. A lot of fans of Tolkien's world are baffled by this character. The Hobbits encounter him early in their journey, and he is presented as both helpful and an enigma - a character of subtle power so deep and great that the One Ring that threatens to consume an entire world has zero effect on him. And, in turn, he himself seems to have little effect on the world. Beyond helping the Hobbits escape the barrow wights, he doesn't figure into the narrative at all.

So, why does Tom exist, not only in the realm of Middle-earth, but in Tolkien's imagination? Tolkien presents Tom as the "Oldest and Fatherless" or "the First" - older than anything else in Middle-earth. In 'The Gospel According to Tolkien: Visions of the Kingdom in Middle-earth' Tolkien scholar Ralph C. Wood writes that Bombadil does serve a purpose, but not a mortal one. He "may be Tolkien’s own monkish gift to Ilúvatar [God] - a creature not meant for our understanding but for the enjoyment of God alone." He frames Tom as a creature existing, not for any discernible earthly or practical purpose, but for pure delight in something for its own sake.

I wonder if that's why such extravagant beauty exists in the universe. Not for practical reasons, but because it's God's nature to create beautiful things that delight him. I'm certain he wants us to enjoy them, but given that we will only ever observe a tiny fraction of what he has made, I suspect that the vast majority of it was "not meant for our understanding but for the enjoyment of God alone." Praise him for the parts of it that we do see.

10YO: Mommy, did you know, some parents hit their kids?

Me: Yeah. Where did you hear about that?

10YO: My friend. She said when she gets in trouble, her parents hit her. Why do they do that? Why don’t they just talk to her?

Me: I don’t know.

———

My precious baby girl. She’s overheard us say that I survived child abuse. She has no idea what that means. She’s never been spanked, but she’s one of the most well behaved kids. The concept of a parent hitting is totally foreign to her. We talk about things. Tonight we sat up late telling stories about when she was a teeny tiny little girl. Her antics. Her eccentricities. Her games. She has no idea how dark the world can be. And I intend to keep it that way, for as long as I can 🩷

I was sitting in a kids choir concert tonight and two older ladies in the aisle ahead of me were excitedly looking at this Trump charcuterie board on their phones. What I want to know is, are they making this for the Sunday potluck or as a Thanksgiving hors de oeuvre? 🤣

These ads are actually hilarious to watch without the sound on. Just some weird old farmer-looking dude smoking a cigar on a hideous flaming couch in a field.
November is almost here.

See you next week?
