Should documentaries partially funded by their subjects have some sort of disclaimer?
SCOOP: @TexasTech has found another potentially unprecedented way to throw money at its football program: paying the producers of the new Red Raiders docuseries The Program a nearly $1M "studio fee." Typically producers pay the schools. For @Sportico👇

I love AI letting fans crown personal NFL champions based on their own criteria.

Example: if the NFL worked like the Premier League (counting the most recent home & away fixtures for each team against the other teams in their conference), the Bills and Lions would be champs.
We’ve seen enough Cowboys-Giants games and Colts-Jaguars matchups. It’s time for real rivalries.

I present to you an idea to refresh the NFL's divisions in my Club Sportico debut 👇 club.sportico.com/p/nfl-division…

Even better: they’re going to do it for every game.
Whoever executed being able to watch batting practice on MLB Network’s Youtube channel is a genius

I’ve been watching this for like 10 minutes and can’t stop

NBA streaming in 2026:

* Roughly the same # of teams are consistently on free broadcast stations as remain primarily on paid cable networks

* The Heat are the only team with a free streaming option

If Netflix expands its live sports slate to boost engagement and ad sales, what could it go after: More NFL games? Local team rights? USA's Premier League matches? The Savannah Bananas??

As I went through it, there are actually a lot of options...

NBA season feels different without Wob.

He says he felt "uninspired" to continue posting here.

Also the daily League Pass Menus are "retired," barring another sponsor stepping in.
My watch has ended.
Thanks for everything.

When you see stats about how much more valuable sports teams are these days, keep in mind: Basically everything has gone up...
The S&P has recently moved largely in lockstep with franchise value gains in the NBA, NFL, while crushing those in MLB, MLS—the Nasdaq is even better at +162% since Oct. 2022.

The advantage for sports teams as an asset class is they avoid the bear market cycles of stocks. The resu.2% annual compound growth rate vs 8.4% for the S&P over 30 years (this ignores dividends for both).

One of the benefits of a sweep, BTW, is Milwaukee had plenty of time to get this all sorted out.
The Brewers just apologized for their handling of the Timeless Ticket redemptions.

From President of Business Operations Rick Schlesinger:

"Several hundred fans indicated an intention to redeem their Timeless Ticket for a World Series game. We subsequently erred in our internal communications on the logistics of fulfilling the requests. While we were able to accommodate all with seats, we received feedback from some that they were unhappy with their seat locations.

Clearly, even with extraordinary limitations on available seats, we did not live up to the spirit of the program and we have been working through a resolution. We are happy to say that all of these fans who applied prior to the deadline will be contacted with a positive update: they can retain their World Series ticket for this year, plus retain their Timeless Ticket for redemption for another game in any future season. We regret our mistake and look forward to welcoming them to America Family Field for their World Series experience.”

The Brewers were in a 6-year playoff drought when they sold Timeless Tickets for $1K, promising a seat for any home game—even a World Series clash.

Fans held onto hope for over a decade. But now some feel the Brewers didn't fully live up to the deal...

The Knicks receive their NBA championship rings tonight, in what may be the last sponsor-free ritual in pro sports: None of the major leagues have exclusive ring jewellers.

The result is a deeply competitive cottage industry for banner night baubles:

Timeless Ticket holders told Sportico they were offered better seats in 2018, but the redemption process has changed since then.

It sounds like the team might be prioritizing season ticket holders (and maybe potential future STH) over those who plunked down $1k 11 years ago.

Still, those longtime holders can't wait to see their team in the World Series for the first time since 1982.
