Engines of Creation: The Starship Robinhood Sketch Decoded. @RobinhoodApp
"Engines of Creation" was the theme of Robinhood's third annual #HOODSummit, held September 29-30, 2026 in Houston. Vlad Tenev explained the name himself: "We called this one Engines of Creation because . They take ideas, capital, and people and turn them into things that can grow."
But the phrase carries a double meaning. An engine bay is where things are built. It's also where things are taken apart. And the sketch that opened the keynote made that second meaning explicit. The sketch is more important than you might think.
The Starship Robinhood
The keynote opened with Vlad as captain of the Starship Robinhood. This isn't a generic spaceship. It's their entity. Their chain. It is a flying feather shape with a ring around it. Their platform, their chain. The ship's engineers have been "making improvements" which is how Vlad framed the product announcements before revealing them.
The Starship Robinhood represents everything they've built: the 24/7 market, the agentic trading, the infrastructure. It's the vessel they fly in.
The Vrax Ship
At some point the Vrax appear, a civilization described as one that "talked about open markets and then tried to lock them". Their ship represents ETH. The connection is visual: the Vrax vessel shares the shape of Ethereum's logo. They even make no-so-subtle jokes about it.
The Vrax commander, bald, blue, clearly modeled on Brian Armstrong, rules from that ship. (Atleast that's what they thought) The implication is direct: Coinbase and Ethereum are the old system, the "greedy foil" that Robinhood is positioning itself against.
The Sequence That Matters
The sketch follows a precise order of operations:
The Vrax ship forms a threat to Robinhoods ship through malicious connections to it's users.
Before any attack, the connection is cut or routed. The Vrax ship is isolated from its remote operators. It can no longer communicate with the network. It formed a threat to Robinhood users.
Second: The Hesitation
When the threat is identified and before it is solved, someone says "Blast it, I want a raise." Vlad hesitates, said something like: ''Not yet, we're still dependent on it''
He's still aboard and working under the hood. The Starship Robinhood is still connected to the Vrax ship. Blowing it up too soon would mean blowing up the connection they're still using.
3: The Attack
Vlad gives the order: "Fire away." The torpedoes launch. The Vrax ship is destroyed.
4: The Transmission from the Cabin
After the explosion, a new transmission arrives: "I have another incoming transmission. This time it appears to be from somebody's cabin in Lake Tahoe."
Vlad's response something like: "They don't even have a ship?"
The Vrax aren't destroyed. They're displaced. Their ship is gone, but their voice remains. Now coming from a vacation home. The rumours are true, everyone connects from home adresses to the Vrax ship, nobody lives in the ship.
What the Sketch Reveals
The sketch describes a routing operation before a military strike. The sequence is:
Sever the connection, cut the link between the enemy ship and its operators and users. Remain connected first. Vlad stays aboard while the connection is still active and works together with someone to change things in their engine bay. Routed and changed things. The connection core is used to alter the enemy ship's operations
Then destroy, only after the work is complete does the ship get blown up
This mirrors exactly what happened with the launch of their own chain, when a new chain routes activity away from an existing one. You don't just disconnect. You stay connected long enough to redirect the flow. You change the underlying infrastructure. Then you cut it off.
The sketch isn't only entertainment. It's marketing. It's storytelling. But the sequence it describes; sever, route, redirect, then destroy. Is not random. It's a precise description of how infrastructure transitions work.
They're eventually going to blow up ETH, it's just a matter of time. They want to fly in their own spaceship, their own chain.
Now, what will replace it? Is there another asset and infrastructure made already that mirrors ETH's use case for their own chain? Is it $WALLET? Is the on-chain evidence true? Will there be another asset? Will they just use $USDG? We'll be waiting.

The new homepage of Robinhood.com shows the exact symbols from the $WALLET Dexscreener banner
And if you go to robinhood.com/us/en/about/tr… it’s the exact picture of the $WALLET Dexscreener banner but without the symbols
They’ve known for months we’ve analyzed the now they chose to make it their homepage and trading tab pictures
This stealth launch is becoming too obvious now
