Ken Paxton’s former top cop on why he’s voting for James Talarico:

I spent 2 hours with James Talarico. Number one, I saw no deception. He answered all my difficult questions. He didn’t dodge anything. He hit it head on.

I have been around politicians my entire life. I served 5 residents… And James Talarico is so different than other people I’ve encountered.

I think he’s the man who needs to go to Washington DC, and Ken Paxton needs to go home.

Fox: Why are you here this morning?

Trump rally attendee: Well, in the late 70s, I was a little too young to go to South America for the Jonestown Massacre. But this is as close as I'll ever get, so that's why I'm here. There's nothing like seeing a cult right up front.

All I'm saying is that if you had a tribe of say 100 people and 5 of those people hoarded 95% of all the resources while half the tribe starved the rest of the tribe would eventually nationalize SpaceX

I for one hope the Petola campaign's Double-Dan gambit doesn't kill her candidacy in the same way Vivek's Rape Mom ad has so clearly killed his.

Dejan Šoškić, the former head of Serbia's central bank, is one of the more serious candidates to be the country's new PM. He has suggested lustration, in particular of Vucic's expansive party-oligarchs, will be a priority for the/his new government.

That term, lustration, is central to what did not happen in Serbia the last time the country swept away a strong man leader, Slobodan Milosevic.

The security archives were never opened, the regime's apparatchik class never ejected, and the intelligence, military, and police apparatus never reformed. The result was the return of the Milosevic B-team, with Vucic at its fore, barely 11 years later.

The new government in Belgrade, if it is serious about making a historic break with Vucic, and with Milosevic for the matter, must pursue a serious lustration policy.

Declassify the security archives; allow us to finally learn the whole truth of the Serbian state's direct involvement in the wars of the 90s; to learn whom the regime(s) of Milosevic and Vucic surveilled, harassed, and assassinated; and let us finally learn the true extent the network of political and media collaborators in Serbia itself, the region, and Europe more broadly. Including the names of a few of those prominent personalities, including on this platform, who welcomed the change of government through gritted teeth.

The past forty years have shown, time and again, that Serbian nationalism, as an ideological project, has two pillars: authoritarianism at home, and expansionism abroad. Last night, the Serbian public rejected the former. No one truly expects them to reject the latter overnight. But the new government can begin that process by revealing the true costs of the latter, first and foremost for the Serbian people themselves, and begin charting a slow, uneven course into a different future for the entire region.

What so many Ukraine supporters in Washington think but won't say publicly: Zelensky mishandled Trump's demand that he stop bombing Russian refineries—and then made it worse by going after Trump publicly.

My latest.

Side note about my Dad. As you may recall he was a lifelong Republican from TX who saw the light. He went viral for saying at age 95, "All my life I was mad at the wrong people." He voted blue in 2024.

Well, Dad passed a few weeks before the Iran War began. While he was still lucid he said, "That mother-f*cker is going to go to war with Iran, isn't he? Does he not know about the Strait of Hormuz? This is bad, Annie, this is BAD."

95, dying, dementia, feels like crap and even he knew what Iran would do should we go to war.

Every morning he would also ask, "Is he ☠️ yet?" Dad last asked the morning he passed! He passed around 10pm that evening. Not long after he asked, the meds kicked in and he didn't talk much after that except to say he loved me. Then he was unconscious. But even on his literal death bed Dad was determined to resist this regime. Dad passed at 97.5 yrs old.
I’m back! I took an 8-month break from X because I knew that after my dad’s passing Feb. 18th I would be highly emotional and just … not myself. I didn’t want to risk running my mouth and getting banned!

After time away and lots of healing, I feel more myself than ever before. I apologize for my absence and want you all to know barely a day went by that I didn’t think of you all and look forward to returning to engage, educate and hopefully enlighten.

No source shows Mary Anne Trump said this. The meme gives no source or date, and searches of news archives found no such statement. The quote has gone around online since at least 2019. factcheck.org/2019/12/dubiou… fullfact.org/online/donald-…
