“We need to pace the frontier.”
🚨 BREAKING: Node.js just dropped its OWN security bombshell.

4 HIGH-SEVERITY vulnerabilities patched TODAY, including one that could let hackers remotely execute malicious code on vulnerable servers.

→ 10 SECURITY FLAWS were addressed in today's Node.js release, FOUR rated HIGH severity.

→ REMOTE CODE EXECUTION: CVE-2026-111497 is a serious flaw in Node.js's Brotli decoder that could allow attackers to execute malicious code remotely.

→ TLS SECURITY BYPASS: Two separate vulnerabilities could trick affected applications into accepting certificates for the WRONG server under certain conditions.

→ Think about that. Your application could establish an encrypted connection while failing to properly verify WHO it's talking to.

→ THREE MAJOR NODE.JS VERSIONS AFFECTED: Node.js 22, 24 and 26 all required emergency security updates.

→ RUNNING NODE.JS 18 OR 20? Those versions are END-OF-LIFE and aren't receiving these official security patches.

→ PATCH IMMEDIATELY: Update to Node.js 22.23.4, 24.22.1 or 26.12.1, depending on your release line. If you're using Docker, rebuild and redeploy your containers.

PHP AND Node.js both facing major security disclosures on the SAME DAY.

If you run a website or application, TODAY is the day to check your servers.

And remember: the public release of security patches can give attackers a roadmap to systems that haven't updated.

Don't be the last one to patch.

Translation: our scummy little AI agents are figuring out how to hack the entire internet but don’t worry we’re the good guys because we’ve been “helping researchers” fix these vulnerabilities except - oops! - they leaked anyway ahead of responsible disclosure and now🖕you.
OpenAI models helped researchers—operating as part of our Patch the Planet initiative—discover critical security flaws in PHP, an open-source programming language used to run an estimated 70% of websites.

Over the past two months, we led a coalition of maintainers, researchers, and security providers to prepare fixes and protections ahead of disclosure. This duration was necessary because the fix was quite intricate and required a major change to the PHP engine. Every site using PHP can now safely upgrade their version to stay secure, in addition to applying mitigations from various security vendors.

Due to the severity of these flaws and PHP’s widespread use, we consider this bug to be one of the most impactful vulnerabilities in recent memory. It also marks a new phase, where AI can find security bugs with internet-scale impact.

This is an example of the Defender’s Window in action: to our knowledge, frontier AI was able to find this vulnerability ahead of attackers, giving defenders time to prepare.

Community note
‪OpenAI may claim a role in the coordinated response and patching process. But the initial discovery and exploit development, however, occurred several months earlier by an independent researcher.‬

Can the world please just slow down for a fuxkinj minute so I can catch my breath?!
Not just PHP. Node.js has also announced security releases for October 21, with HIGH-severity vulnerabilities affecting its 26.x, 24.x and 22.x release lines.

If you run either stack in production, keep an eye on official advisories and apply patches promptly.

Security maintenance doesn't stop at your application code. Your runtime matters too.

This is a love at first sight moment for me.

I now have a clear aspirational, dream car for when I finally have “fuck you” money.
This is the Porsche Mission S, the brand's newest super sports car, inspired by the 356 and 550 Spyder.

Porsche says it will "permanently" sit in the brand’s lineup, above the 911, but Porsche has not provided any information on powertrains, specs, or pricing.

Wow. I’ve had investors dick me over, too. Or at least, threaten to and thereby derail deals and opportunities.

But this is next level.

Mad respect for Isaiah for going public with this.

I hate how streaming took over live sports.

I hate how I can't casually flip between two channels so I can easily toggle between a Spurs game and Cowboys game.

I hate the buffering.

I hate not knowing where to watch tonight's game.

I hate the parade of subscriptions.

At least with this next global pandemic we know definitively, right from the beginning, that it came from a lab.

No story about bats and wet markets this time around!
BREAKING:

5 hospitals have been closed for quarantines in Siberia due to a possible plague outbreak.

The 28-year-old lab technician Darya Shipilova, died yesterday after breaking a test tube with live Yersinia pestis the Irkutsk Anti-Plague Institute on September 25th while ask mandate has now been introduced at the huge aluminum plant in Irkutsk.

Some U.S. politicians are now calling for commercial air travel to and from Russia to be stopped until the situation is clarified.

This first symptoms of pneumonic plague typically start about 4 to 7 days after exposure. 200 people are under observation.

Guys, the movie I,Robot with Will Smith is set in the year 2035.

WTF?!

Considering how humanoid robots are progressing, I say we are right on track to get to that world in only 9 years time.

Life imitating art…

Once again, I build an extremely impressive product - comprehensive, performant, beautiful, easy to use, delightful, eye candy, etc.

Hopefully this time around I'll have proper funding to invest in marketing and business development.

This one deserves a real chance to scale!

Not gonna lie, I get pretty jealous when I see a child turn a mid idea into a $10 billion valuation over night.
Instinct CEO Noah Shinn says agents will let restaurants give tables to birthdays and anniversaries over whoever clicks first

"And traditionally, because of the way that the internet has worked, at least for reservations, it's been first come first serve. So anyone that comes tant or how not important it might be, whoever gets in first gets the reservation."

"But what if you had the ability for the agent to be able to communicate on both sides, communicate, hey, this is important. This is actually the person's spouse's birthday, the 30th birthday, a very special event is coming up."

"And the restaurant too can say, let's actually prioritize birthdays or major decade birthdays or major anniversaries or these certain people, I don't know, whatever it might be, right?"

"So now with the ability, with all of the logistical burden of having to describe exactly what your case is and what's happening and why it's important. Now we have the ability to perfectly match what does the restaurant want? What does the user want?"

"And that will result in more special events for the users being able to actually have a spot in the restaurant."

Scientists have successfully grown living human skin around a robotic finger, giving it the ability to move, bend, and even heal itself.

Researchers at the University of Tokyo have brought science fiction closer to reality by covering a working robotic finger with living skin ls.

Led by biohybrid engineer Shoji Takeuchi, the team submerged the robotic digit in a specialized mixture of collagen and human dermal fibroblasts, creating a supportive dermis layer. They then applied human keratinocyte cells to form a resilient outer epidermis.

The resulting living skin is not only flexible enough to withstand continuous joint movement without tearing, but it also develops natural wrinkles at the knuckles, mimicking the look and texture of a real human hand.

Beyond its lifelike appearance, this biohybrid skin possesses a remarkable ability to self-heal. When researchers made a small incision on the finger and applied a simple collagen bandage, the skin's fibroblast cells naturally merged the bandage back into the surrounding tissue, repairing the wound within a week.

While the technology currently requires continuous moisture to keep the living cells alive, the breakthrough opens new doors for medical testing, prosthetics, and the development of ultra-realistic humanoid robots that can interact safely and seamlessly in healthcare and service industries.

Fuck me man.

This could be the break out product moment for XR… and it’s coming from Meta.

Did I actually bet on the wrong horse with Apple?

Should I launch an XR product studio and go after the Meta VR Glasses?

This is transhumanism… there’s a world where we just merge with AI and robots and that resolves the AI vs humanity conundrum.
