Diana Ross - Surrender (7" Mix) (1971)

One of her most exciting yet overlooked early solo recordings. With Ashford & Simpson, Diana always sounded at her most soulful and commanding. No sweet cooing, just really gut-driven performances & gritty with it. A UK Top 10 hit.❤️

The Spinners - It's a Shame (1970)

Referred to as The Detroit Spinners in the UK to avoid confusion with the British folk group of the same name. Written by Stevie Wonder, Syreeta Wright & Lee Garrett, the song was both a UK & US Top 20 hit + #3 on the Soul Chart.❤️

Smokey Robinson & The Miracles - The Tears of a Clown (Live In 1970)

And to think this all time classic Motown song was almost destined to be just an album track. Hidden away on their 1967 album Make It Happen, the song was released as a single in the UK in 1970, hitting #1.❤️

Marvin Gaye - Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology) (Live at the 1980 Montreux Jazz Festival)

More brilliant footage of Marvin Gaye, performing one of his signature classics. A song about the environment, written by Marvin as a call to care for the earth. Hit #1 on the Soul Chart. ❤️

Marvin Gaye - I Heard It Through The Grapevine (Live at the Montreux Jazz Festival 1980)

Superb! Electric live performance of his 1968 #1 hit single. Marvin's version of the song was voted "the nation's favourite Motown song" in 2015 in a UK poll for the ITV Motown special. ❤️

Happy Birthday to @1phildaniels - class actor (title of his autobiography which makes a cracking read so well worth checking out if you haven't already).🥳🍻

This is a very old tweet but respect and love Alison Moyet even more for sticking up for our beloved Madonna haha. ❤️ Seeing Alison Moyet live in concert myself is now high on my to-do list after seeing that absolutely FANTASTIC concert footage the other night. AMAZING talent! ❤️

Beautiful! ❤️
#Legend

I know exasperation & my drive to be understood has seen me zone in on nay sayers when I’ve been blessed by the support of so very many more. Forgive me that it appears I’ve overlooked your messages of love & encouragement. I see you & take heart in every one of you. Thank you xx

Alison Moyet looking & sounding great!! #Legend ❤️

Kylie Minogue - Look My Way (1988)

Another montage video of my favourite track from her debut album, using the same backing track as The Whispers' 'Rock Steady', hence the funky R&B sound. She's in good voice here; she was only 20 and hadn't had any formal singing lessons. ❤️

Nothing more revolting than @danwootton and @piersmorgan trying to justify their abuse of Meghan. You can wrap it up anyway you want but it is racism and misogyny. They disgust me.

Now this is my fav AI with Madonna, both real pics obviously making it look like I've got my arm around her. The real Madonna pic here is from early 1984...I'd have been 4 so I'm looking rough...

Diana Ross on the Jonathan Ross Show - Discussing changes in black cultural history (1991)

CELEBRATING BLACK HISTORY MONTH:
Diana Ross is one of the pioneering black artists to take black music into the mainstream with both her records and as a performer. Trailblazer & Icon!❤️

Betty Boo - Close The Door (1992)

This is actually a stunning photo collection! This is the closing track of her second album, GRRR!, a homage to one of her beloved soul icons Teddy Pendergrass hence the title and does evoke a genuinely beautiful, sensual soul & jazz air.

Madonna - Stay (1984)

Montage video I put together with photos from the Like a Virgin era. Love this! The closing number on the Like a Virgin album and also used as a B-side. Rolling arrangement with youthful-sounding, vulnerable yet commanding vocals from the Queen of Pop. ❤️

Alice Immersive Wonderland

Wow! Looks great. I may have to attend! Like Peter Pan, I'll never grow up! 😂But definitely something for adults like me that like to connect to their inner child lol. Nagging my mate to bring her kids to it so I can go haha!
