In September, IOM #Kenya continued delivering results that support safe, orderly & dignified migration.

In Tana River County, 130 flood-affected households (780 people) have received solar energy kits through a partnership between IOM, Mitsui OSK Lines & @SHARP_JP, helping families with access to clean and reliable energy. 🏡🏡

The house now has the light and the power to charge the phone! The 260 solar panels of Sharp, the major panel manufacturer of Japan, have come to Mwina village, shipped by MOL, a Japanese shipper, and packaged with a battery and other equipment by IOM. #SHARP #MOL #IOM

The villagers, who have suffered from the 2024 flood and moved to this high ground, are all happy. @GovD_Godhana, County Tana River, welcomed us at the village, showed us around and spoke about his vision of development, in which Mwina is one of the model villages.

A Kenyan delegation, hosted by the Govt of Hungary, visited the Röszke–Horgoš border crossing on the Hungary–Serbia border to learn best practices in coordinated border mgmt' & border security. The visit is implemented by @IOMKenya with funding from @GAC_Corporate.

As Breast Cancer Awareness Week comes to a close, we stand with everyone affected by breast cancer.

@IOMKenya and @IOM_EHSA colleagues came together to honour survivors and caregivers, remember those we lost, and raise awareness on early detection.

NEA and @IOMKenya concluded their two day engagement on ethical recruitment, addressing agency regulation, verification, grievance handling and data governance to strengthen accountability and protect Kenyan migrant workers from exploitation.

Around 50,000 people have crossed into northern Kenya following violent clashes in neighbouring Ethiopia.

As the situation evolves, Government of Kenya and humanitarian partners are preparing for possible further arrivals, with response planning covering up to 80,000 people.

🚨 At least 50,000 people have fled violence in Ethiopia into Kenya, according to county authorities.

UNHCR, IOM, UNICEF and WFP are appealing for US$8.9 million to provide life-saving assistance in Moyale.

After the 2024 El Niño flood, families in Konani, Tana River are rebuilding their lives through safe housing🏠 & essential services, benefiting over 1,200 people & strengthening resilience to future climate shocks.
